New driver insurance

    Hi, I am a young driver and need some advice on car inurance.
    20 y/r old male
    1 years no claim as named driver on mothers policy.
    just got full lience last week.
    I have a 1ltr toyota yaris.
    Mother has a policy on her car, Father has a policy on his van.
    cheapest quote €1800 to insure myself on my own policy in yaris. (third Party)

    What should i do for insurance?
    Should i go as a name driver and put yaris in fathers name?
    I want cheapest policy possible.
    please help!!

    Only problem with named driver insurance is that you will not build up any NCB for yourself.

    Also not all insurance companies will recognize named driver experience! Have you tries a company that ramps up the excess for a lower quote? My first policy was somewhere in the same price as yours.. Just had to suck it up so i could start building an NCB for myself.
