Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

for a good while now I have been wanting to get a Staffordshire Bull terrier.. The only thing that was putting me off was that we already have five dogs, and I know it could take more effort with that breed to make sure they will all get along peacefully.. Has anyone suscfully brought a this breed or similar breed into a house with a fue dogs? :P I want Be 100% redy and wouldn't be rushing into it and would be doing alot more research :)

Any dog that is socialised well will mix with other dogs, breed doesn't come into it.

So be it a staffy, chihuahua or Great Dane, if it was socialised well from the beginning you'll have no issues.

This! Don't believe the hype that breed x is y. they are all individual and should be treated as such. A lot of the reason you have this opinion is that some people whom are attracted to Staffies or any other RB dogs are people who should never have a dog period. Id say go for it as long as your other dogs are socialized you are good to go and have done it before! Breed is irrelevant!

For the most part this is true but breed does sometimes come into it along with personality. Take this from someone who lives with multiple dogs! Not all will get along even among very well socialised dogs.

You cannot completely discount the effects DNA has on behaviour, and the reality is that breeds that were bred to fight, or be otherwise "dog hot", are more likely to cause problems with other dogs even when well socialised. I know their fans will defend them vehemently, but the stats are there to support the fact that Staffies and other terrier breeds are more likely to exhibit aggression problems towards other dogs.
Of course, they're all individuals and there are plenty of Staffies who get on great with other dogs, but it is a mistake to assume that simply socialising them with other dogs will offset future problems.

Thank yous :) obviously would love a staffy and still thinking off it but wouldent be rushing into it as I know its more effort with this breed and would have do more research.. Our current dogs are 13 year old jack Russell x Yorkshire, 5 years old male and female Golden Retrivers, 2 year old male golden retriver and a 13 month male Shih tzu x maltese.. The only current dogs I'd be concerned about is our older
Male golden his not aggressive dog and bas has never bite a dog (thank god) but is abit picky and dogs he dosent take he dosent put up much from the most he has done is growled and a little 'charge' but if he takes to the dog he will literally take anything from it! And then our youngest shih tzu cross his OK with dogs dosent try bite growl or anything like that but is very yappy and his very annoying around serting dogs it's like he will keep barking into SOME dogs face until the give him a reaction! Other than that his grand brilliant on walks.... Advice on what action I'd take to PROPERLY socialise the staffie(if I do go ahead) to get along with other dogs? I know the usual bring for walks every day and to places where she would meet different sizes and breeds off dogs lol but any advice regarding that would be great! Thanks
