Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did Ferrari bring an upgrade this weekend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Bottas sounding like a cyborg :D

Surprising that there is still loads of gravel on the track (albeit off the racing line) where Hamilton went off, when I was sitting there last year the lads were straight on with the broomsticks.

Wonder is it just track temperature that's suiting Ferrari

    Williams not having great time

Haven't heard McLaren mentioned at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

One of the redbulls front wings looks a bit flappy

Kvyatt complaining of vibration under braking. Saw the wing myself at the end of the main straight thinking it was another bendy-wing red Bull design!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Did look like Maldonado could have avoided that

Should be some tasty racing at the end with light cars on different tyres with a 1 second differential

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,354 ✭✭✭smellslikeshoes

This is exactly the sort of race we needed before the summer break.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

Ah **** i forgot about the summer break :(

Hamilton eating into Rosbergs lead on him
Would be strange if Rosberg went for hard tyre for final stint

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,354 ✭✭✭smellslikeshoes

    Well ****e there's the Ferrari 1-2 gone.

Jaysus, there goes the Hulk, this is going to be an interesting end!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,354 ✭✭✭smellslikeshoes

Gonna have to be a physical safety car with that debris I'd say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,930 ✭✭✭Jimoslimos

Rosberg not taking the soft tyre. Strange decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,991 ✭✭✭Shane732

Can someone explain why Rosberg went on the slower tyre?

    Surely it's a stupid decision.

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭antodeco

Ah, its Mercedes race to win now with the safety car!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,991 ✭✭✭Shane732

Rosberg could be sitting in 3rd with zero gap to the ferraris and on the better tyres. Idiot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Front wing just disintegrated, not a good weekend for Force India

COuld have been a worse weekend for Kyvat had a big chunk of that front wing had clattered into his head.

Race on now. Hopefully Kimi can hold on.

Rosberg & his team making a very poor decision with tyre choice. Interesting end to this race now!

He just doesn't read races as well as Hamilton and seems to panic a bit when reacting to something Hamilton has done.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Disappointing decision from Rosberg, unless he was short a new set but team were recommending soft

Didn't think there was much reading the race to it - Hamilton catching him and over fist on the quicker tyres and he decides he doesn't want the quicker tyres

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Obviously it makes sense if there is lots of debris on the start/finish straight, but I can't ever remember having seen the safety car lead the whole pack through the pit-lane before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,354 ✭✭✭smellslikeshoes

If Kimi can keep them behind for a lap or two so Vettel can get some space that will be his contract for next year sorted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Would be nice if Ricciardo has a tyre advantage that gives him chance to fight for win

I agree that it's a really strange decision here, but I was talking about more generally.

Poor Kimi has to race his car know with no MGU-K. Kyvat very lucky to not get hit by any of that front wing from Hulkenbergs car.
Its looking very like it could be the two Mercs to come 1-2 now. Hope Ferrari and Vettel don,t make it easy for them.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Lewis took a very odd angle into the last corner before the main straight....

Perhaps he thought he could get close to Nico?

Either way, it allowed Riccardo to get all over him on the main straight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,991 ✭✭✭Shane732

Hamilton deserves a penalty for that.
