Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bill Johnston is such a big blow. Defensively, leadership and goal kicking.

Big time. His kicks down the line were outstanding as well.

I'm impressed with the NZ commentator. He genuinely seems to have done some research on the Irish players.

    Ireland u20 doing very well.

Well this one is definitely in the bag. 6 point lead at half time is unassailable, better luck next year Baby Blacks

In taffier news, Keelan Giles has been pulled out of the Welsh squad to travel to New Zealand (North is injured)

Yeah he knows his stuff on both sides. Wonder does he live here?

I honestly don't think he is being patronising.

Has Hugh Cahill made the move to Sky permanently or is it just for this tournament?

Bill Johnston looks very good, shame he got injured. Just on the basis of that 35 minutes you'd think he can't be far off the Munster side already given they aren't exactly coming down with top class options there.

This U20 squad seem to have a few more potential pros than I had initially thought which is encouraging.

Seems NZ can enter rucks from wherever they want.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭Tigerandahalf

Gosh the nz handling is very poor. Unlike them.
    Ire look very solid.

Your man Keenan has something about him doesn't he. Certainly flawed but a nice running style. Leinster can't exactly afford to be choosy when it comes to back-three talent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,233 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

    McPhillips has started well

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

It's obviously pissing rain there now. We're making life difficult at the rucks and they're having to put a good few in each time which is hindering them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,062 ✭✭✭blackcard

Hell, we even gave them a game for 45 minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,967 ✭✭✭✭The Lost Sheep

Yeah have to agree. Weather is ****e and making handling difficult...

Don't rate him at all. Can't catch or kick.

Getting the rub of the green here are New Zealand me thinks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Did NZ not join that maul from the side, or at the very least swim around the side?

Yeah definitely looks worth a shot, really nice fluid runner, seems to glide through space

Great hands from the NZ FB. Thought we had done enough there but he managed to get it away.

lads, while all this is going on Italy are drawing 10-10 with Australia

Ah look if you're just going to be down on the lads can you do it somewhere else. We are still winning and are doing very well. NZ got a few non-decisions from the ref in the last little bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

    Argentina?

They scheduled a game with Australia without telling the Ozzies, they're the only ones on the pitch, fingers crossed they can pull out a win

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,257 ✭✭✭Hagz

Wouldn't call that deliberate but if you go with one hand you run the risk.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Ah McPhillips just isn't up to the same level as Johnston. Cheers awec

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,796 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

Inconsistency from the ref. That's absolutely crap.

Ref has just rode ireland dry in that intercept call.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Swan Curry

going for a classic one-handed open palm interception

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

    Clegg wrote: »

Nonsense, it was the TMO who made the call for starters and it wasn't a deliberate knock on anyway.

    Not really....
When he explained it it was right....

I hope the Irish lads don't lose trust in the system. The blitz D is working well and they need to keep employing it.

I don't understand the deliberate knock on thing. Not making a play on the ball and having it hit an arm that's out for a wrap is a yellow? But attempting to intercept with one hand and dropping it isn't? Like the latter would seem worse to me. Was it just to do with the fact NZ had more men outside?

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Bloody hell that was close. Can't see us holding out at this stage. It's all NZ at the moment and there's still a quarter of the game left. Johnston was a big, big loss.

Time for some changes , Irish boys are getting tired

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,233 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

Fatigue possibly beginning to affect Ireland

Baby blacks making better use of the bench I fear, some very tired bodies in green.out there

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭galwaylad14

I'd be very disappointed now if we don't win it from here. Defence is sublime. Delighted I lumped on the +25

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Yeah we look like we're tiring but there has been a big step down from Johnston to McPhillips too which isn't helping.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,257 ✭✭✭Hagz

Decisions just not going our way at the minute. Get some pens at maul or scrum time and hopefully momentum will swing.

+1 could b the difference between winning and loosing this game, great performance so far but the difference between 10s is huge. Hope we can keep it going not sure we have an advantage with our bench, great to see the Clontarf lad getting a run, I think he will be good!
