If Stander's was a Red that was definitely a red. Game is gone that way. Flicks out with the boot deliberately.

Last year a Yellow would have done.

Is the Georgian scrumhalf the guy who played with the Seniors in the WC?

Very dangerous play, luckily it didn't cause serious damage.

McPhillips does that dopy Owen Farrell face before kicking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,242 ✭✭✭crisco10

Actually not entirely sure that went forward from irish winger...

    Another huge scrum from Georgia.

    13-7

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

you can already see the vast differance between Bollard and Porter

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

Also this looks like a straight shootout between Mintern and O'connor for a place on the bench for the semis, Mintern taking it so far

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

    Then Mintern drops it lol

Lots of possession and territory, but mistakes are stopping ireland build the score/pressure.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

Bollards gotta go off otherwise this game is going to be even closer than it already is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,242 ✭✭✭crisco10

18-7 with probable conversion to come...

    20-7

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Nice step by McPhillips, 20-7 to Ireland

Very hard first half for the georgian.

A red card for a flanker from the min 8 and both locks outs, I don't think the lelos scrum will be dominant in the second half

With Zoidze (Clermont) injured just before the tournament and Javakhia (Lyon) injured after the first game, there are now 4 georgians locks injured. It will be very hard

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,154 ✭✭✭✭Neil3030

P1ss it anyway. Went in pretty heavy on the +30 (had shortened by the time I got to bet). Hard to see Ireland not extending that lead considerably in the second half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

Mintern continuing to play himself into the team ahead of O'connor

They've really been beating us in that area all evening. Some really great hair on show, their FB in particular.

That was worse then the red IMO.

Nasty shoulder on the prone player.

    Should have been a yellow

how can that not be a yellow. there was no attempt to tackle?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    No try. In touch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Try under the posts if the pass isnt forward.

    First instinct was forward though.

Edit: No try. Us +32 backers are blessed. Should be about 50 clear.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,934 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

This ref must have put his house on Georgia at +32

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭Tin Foil Hat

Certainly not a 'clear and obvious' forward pass there :(

any idea who the u20s play in the semis and when

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,204 ✭✭✭Billysays no

if there is one rule change that needs to be unchanged its this ball that goes backward from the hands that goes forwards. its a stupid rule. its simply forward no matter the hands. all it does is add confusion and most times even the ref can't figure it.

Wales beaten by New Zealand but New Zealand could well be knocked out if South Africa win tonight.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,934 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

NZL take a one point lead with a minute to go.

Argentina most likely. Semis on Monday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Lol a yellow with 70 seconds to go.

NZ win with a last min penalty. The groan from the crowd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,154 ✭✭✭✭Neil3030

Try at the buzzer for Ireland after Georgian replacement lossehead sent into the bin for side entry into a maul.

James Ryan out as precaution, Cillian Gallagher replaces him on the bench. If anyone was on at +32, wouldn't be bad idea to get on at -27 now. Chances are you'll lose 9% of initial investment doing this but anywhere in the 28-31 range and both bets are up.

    Nice call.

Jaysus that Porter lad must take some feeding.

Very good performance by 14 men, to be fair. Georgia are definitely on the up.

saunders and mcphillips both looked impressive. saunders passing was on the money every time. interesting choice between him and kerins

When I was reading the laws a few years ago, it said a forward throw was defined as a throw towards the opponents' dead ball line. But the then-IRB told referees to allow forward throws if they weren't forward relative to the thrower, but they neglected to reflect this in the laws.

"Towards the opponents' dead ball line" also means these two tries (from rugby league) would inadvertently be illegal.
