Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What make model bike is this - barn find

    Hi this bike was found in a barn lately could anyone fill me in on the make model and year of the bike - it's yamaha on the speedometer but can't find any similiar models on google search on internet

    I believe it's a YL2 100cc two-stroke single from around 1968.

    I'd guess it's a 50cc. The engine, colour and clocks look Yamaha but not the tank. Is there any name embossed on the engine sidecasing? Or an engine number on top of casing.
    Phone the local motor tax office with the reg number. They'll probably tell you. (Very helpful people - in my limited experience.)

    It's coming up on motorcheck as Honda motor cycle colour red , looks like a Yamaha to me though so I'd be suspicious of the plate matching the bike.

    A Yamaha FS1E "Fizzy", 50cc mid-late seventies, where I started out on the road in 1978.
    They were fitted with pedals to comply with moped regs but were much faster (relatively) than real mopeds of the time.

    Here's a pic of the same one as the barn find, front mudguard is different though.
    Looks more like a Honda 50 front or something :confused:
