Just finished Mafia 2 the last day, really enjoyed it. Ending was really dark too which I loved. Don't know why I put it off for so long.

Trailer for this doesn't look promising, not much of a Mafia feel to it.

It does look interesting but as already said it doesn't feel like a Mafia game so far, from what I've seen of the story and gameplay.

The more I see of this game the more I wanna play it, definitely one of my most anticipated games this year!

I absolutely loved Mafia 1, one of my all time favourite games but the reviews (both user and 'pro') put me off Mafia 2. I got it cheap about 18 months later and was raging I put it off as I thought it was brilliant. Last time I ever trusted reviews on any game.

For this, the devs said they wanted to do something different than the typical Mafia setting which I get but maybe the Mafia name just carries a certain expectation.

I'll be keeping a very close eye on this and will try make my mind up from gameplay vids. I'm sure plenty more info will be release over E3/Summer anyway.

The gameplay looks absolutely fantastic, there's no denying that, but I've yet to see any indication they'll capture the true feeling of 60's New Orleans.

I'm sure it won't dissapoint when it does drop though.

That latest video has given me a bit of confidence in Mafia 3. Could be great.

Mafia 2 was among my favourite play throughs. Having watched trailers for 3 I think I might try find 2 and play it again as I don't remember much. Just seen you can't buy it on steam..

This one looks great. The steam discussion is riddled with threads about how ridiculous it is to have a black guy as the main character.... Christ.. What is wrong with people.

That video looks excellent but the guy narrating is an idiot.

Mafia = open world with nothing to do but the story.
Other open world games + 4 million icons about absolute bull****, that is bull**** and just more bull****.

I like Mafia as its a narrated game in an open world that has a feeling of being an actual place, dont fcuk with that part of the game. I am sure the same narrator whinges about Ubisoft and its open world of bull****.

Nothing wrong with a bit of variety always would have liked if the Mafia 2 game had branched out a bit more.
After playing through the story umpteenth times I would have liked the option of some more things to do than sell cars and mess with the police.

They made a big detailed world but had nothing to do in it just like L.A. Noir once you do the side cases.

Nothing wrong with that if the narrative is decent. Which Mafia has previously done well on.

I agree, I'm not saying they should sacrifice story for a game of find the three hundred collectibles just that including them shouldn't do any harm.

Plus what I heard in that gameplay trailer is that all the side stuff will have an impact on the story stuff.
Creating stealth opportunities or disabling phones so they can't call backup etc.
If implemented correctly could be great fun altogether.

This game just oozes 'AAA'. I hope it sells millions! Mafia II was a superior game to GTAIV.

Legend has it that it's a Federal offence to have anything to do with Vietnam and not feature Fortunate Son in some capacity :pac:

Not sure about the characters, I'd rather play as the mob guys tbh.

    Nah. Completely unrelated story.

I would highly recommend playing Mafia 2 tho just because it's a great game.

I hope there's more than 3 different face models for the female NPCs in the 3rd game.

I found it a bit odd, in the 2nd game, that one of the girls in the bordello had the exact same face as the main characters sister, just a different hair cut :pac:

Can't wait for the new game :)

Occasionally I get to fly into new york and the shuttle bus always goes through Hoboken on the way into Manhattan.

    It always takes me back.

i was a bit sceptical about this game for a while\,but having watched a few of the play videos that popped up this week,i reckon ill be getting it (after i finish Deus Ex:Mankind Divided)
I loved Mafia 2 except for the driving, but they seemed to have fixed this.
