    I'm definitely in the Ben & Jerry camp, Hagen Daz is full of notions about being a cut above the rest and it's simply not as good as B&J. Cookie Dough and Phish Food are my favourites.

    Haagen Dazs once sued another ice cream company for having a quasi-Swedish name, despite not being Swedish. The thing is, Haagen Dazs isn't a Swedish word. It doesn't mean anything, it's just a vaguely Danish sounding word. They claimed the other company was stealing their branding techniques. They lost, largely due to the fact that their branding techniques involved pretending to be Scandinavian, when they weren't.
