Good point Shim. I have long held to the theory of allowing students to progress at their own pace rather than forcing them to march in lockstep with every other little drone.

I'd love to be a rich white man. Not an oppressive one though.

I get rich when I drink such tall dark javas, and spout about as if a pot filled with delights.

Oh, hi Hugo. Fancy meeting you here. :D

Most people don't have the imagination to think for themselves though. But that's the way they've been conditioned. Education is still based on producing good little drones for factory labour. It's madness what we put ourselves through for the gain if a small few rich old white men that control the world's economy.

I think there is something other than a sociological conditioning at play. Most people are afraid. It is so much easier to continue as a good little drone than it is to question your surroundings and yourself. Putting your head above the parapet is not easy.

Now that I have shared some wisdom, I must visit the land of nod. There shall be more of this sociopolitical and cultural discussion on the morrow!

A bit of Pink Floyd would do about now...

    We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
    Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

Indeed Hugo, but Swannie has been fluttering about the Lair, just at different times. You?

Ohhhhhhhhh that reminds me of an old old old Carpenters song (oldies but goodies)...

    They say that breakin' up
    Is hard to do
    Now I know, I know
    That it's true
Don't say that this is the end
    Instead of breakin' up
I wish that we were makin' up again
