    Hi

I missed a direct debit payment by mistake and now Electric Ireland are hounding me for a €300 deposit. Since then Ive paid every bill within the day of receiving it while ignoring the deposit.

    Hi jewson,

    Thanks for your post.

As a new customer, if you no longer have a direct debit set up on the account, then the security deposit would be automatically re-applied and would need to be cleared in full. You can reinstate your direct debit online here; this would reverse the security deposit.

If you would like us to have a look at your account for you, please confirm the following details for us by private message:

    - Your full name
    - Your account number
    - The first line of your address
    - Your contact number or date of birth
    - Confirmation you are the account holder (a sentence stating this is sufficient)

We can then look into this further for you.

    Thanks,
    David
