He has his daughter working in the family company business now. That was predictable.

Surprised she's not working for Noel like McAnally's chisler.

His daughter is working in RTÉ?

How old is she? Thought his kids had a few more years to go before being eligible for the cushy RTÉ number.

I'd imagine she's working for Tubridy's company rather than RTE - you know the one that invoices RTE for his time so he doesn't have to pay PAYE Tax on his earnings?

From memory they're in their early 20s. He started young so to speak.

Think he said a few weeks back that one of his daughters was 21

    Good lad Butthers, well spotted.

Here’s one that you will know but maybe some others might not.

That Colm Mac an Iomaire dude getting a lot of publicity lately on RTE .

Did a bit of delving and discovered his auld lad Liam was a newsreader as Gaeilge at RTE. Great Gaeilgóir and academic

Now Liam was a top class person and Colm is a wonderful musician and artist.

But just kind of keeping the links live so to speak.

Pays to have the auld contacts I suppose.

    Good lad, yourself, Ben.

That's interesting. Now I know why Darcy seems so obsessed with him. Feels the need to shout his name at us daily. Even goes to the trouble of spelling it so we can find him on Twitter.

The late late is going to be one big hug.

Darcy was at that "big" hug stuff yesterday.

Must be a directive from ""upstairs".

I get nostalgic for the LLS show when it used to be good.

I get depressed at the current state of the LLS.

Remember the days when you'd sit down to watch it and not have a clue who was going to appear on it !. Now we know since the previous Tuesday;)

Well if it's a tribute I don't think the drugs part of his life will feature significantly.

A few years ago I was at the funeral mass of a sound local lad who worked as a butcher up to about 10 months before he died. Drink took over over his life and caused all sorts of problems, he jacked in the job.

There wasn't one mention of his drink habit during the eulogy/tribute at the mass.

Don't think it's generally done to go into too much detail of the bad part of a persons life during a tribute/celebration.

People from all walks of life struggle with addiction, broadcasters aren't any different. Yes, he did contribute to the wealth of criminals and he was part of the problem, but he was also a victim of it. It doesn't matter if you are in plush city centre apartment or a dark, wet alley.

There's proably a bit of "he made plenty of money for 3 hours on the radio, good enough for him" going about the place.

I think the problem is Tubridy's absolute refusal to acknowledge Gerry's addictions or hear a bad word said about the man. The usual hiding from fair criticism in his delusional Willy Wonka world where the "mean" people can't see him.

"I hope he's having a nice little glass of whiskey up in heaven with Gaybo", he says. All nice and cosy in the big snug in the sky. Completely ignoring the fact that Gerry's heavy alcohol consumption played a part in his death.

I couldnt give a shíte what Gerry was up to, but listening to Tubridy speaking about him is sickening.
