Letters about death to 'the toy man' ;)

    Breakng news:

The Toy Show is Roald Dahl themed but it's "not self-indulgent"!!

AND the DLB will be dressed up as Fantastic Mr. Fox..

I'd say he'll be taking a bit of George's Marvellous Medicine too.

Even talking about kid's stuff he can't resist slipping in the misery.

Friday night is Roald Dahl themed.

I think this is the only context in which one could ever address Tubridy as "Fabulous"

    For Fox Sake.

Jesus the verbal diarrhea-meter has gone into overdrive more than usual this morning.

Love the fact he had to correct himself about getting irish listeners all over the world....
"It could be Instagram....it could be the radio show." Ha ha ha ...first thought was Instagram.
A few months ago it was the Big Bad...now instatubs gets a mention on every show.

Edit: here come the usual I'm crying letters as well. "Kindness in the air".

Had to stop the car because I was crying so much.
    Yeah right

    “Toy Show Week”
    “Toy Show Night”

Believing your own hype isn’t a good look, Tubridy.

By promoting the Toy Show so much and giving it so much focus, it helps obfuscate how poor the rest of the season of shows is. He has had his time in charge of the LLS, probably too long, and it's time to pass it on to somebody new. Maybe let him come back every year and host the Toy Show.

"Had to stop the car, the tears were rolling down my face listening to that kid's letter"

Tubs must be soaking wet down in his nether regions.

The endless promotion by him about the Toy Show is really all about money. By bringing in high audience figures it helps him justify his salary and position as host of the Late Late Show.

The top platinum package was up for grabs for €87,500 with the gold option priced at €59,500 and the premium option up for €57,000.

The range of options include various live mentions during the November 27 show and up to 175,000 streams on the RTÉ Player during the first ad break.

Shakin Stevens with a contemporary twist

    Cancer is a "macro-sadness"

    Shocking.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,154 ✭✭✭mistersifter

The cancer texts are so weird.

People randomly texting him in to inform him that they have cancer.

"I've just got a text from a person with cancer. Hope you're ok. We all have sadness in our lives. Yours is macro sadness"

Is he still going on about it? Just heard foxy lady. We get it!
You've been talking about it incessantly since January this year.
And he's got the hour off tomorrow as well to prepare.
Worse thing is we're gonna be hearing about it after the fact as well for weeks on end no doubt.
Imagine all the "I was crying on the couch" texts next Monday morning.
Everything is going to be "amazing" and "kind" in these "difficult times."

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,250 ✭✭✭Seamai

I think I'll pass on his offer of being a beacon of light during these dark times, don't think my stomach could take any more saccharine sweetness masking a deadly streak of misery, or should that be a string of misery?

The Toy Show used to be about toys and some amateur kids groups singing & dancing.

Now it seems to be a hybrid of those god awful 'talent' shows (X factor et al) complete with the obligatory sad story.

I'd put the house on the show featuring a poor child who has lost someone to Covid.

To top it all, the host tries to hide the fact that he wants the spotlight on him at all times.

You might have guessed, I'm not a fan..

Is it really only 51 weeks to next years Toy Show????

51 weeks where Ryan flogs crap Supermarket authors books for them.

51 weeks of Ryan merrily reading the jaunty bits of the tabloids he finds amusing.

51 weeks of Ryan soliciting free merchandise at our expense.

51 weeks of Ryan travelling like Royalty to and broadcasting from Irish tourist spots...At our expense.

51 weeks of Ryan taking his usual 8 weeks additional holidays cause the above travelling and pampering somehow wasn't sufficient.

51 weeks of Ryan telling people about his constant travel adventures around the Globe attending concerts (post COVID).

51 weeks of Ryan cluelessly butchering the interview process and stifling his celebrity guests own anecdotes, wit and charm.

    :P:P:P

The RTÉ Player likely won't make it through to the first ad-break before it falls over.

Yep, would agree here. He should be in another niche.

"I'm gonna find that girl underneath the mistletoe, and ask for consent before kissing her"

Another example of RTE failing to "fully observe social distancing"

Rte and cancer go hand in hand.
It seems to be mentioned on most shows on a near daily basis.
