I know that less people can physically be invited to Rte studios now but what the hell is going on with the brutal phone lines. Every day on almost every show especially the news ones they have to cut short a call because it keeps dropping out or its distorted. I notice this never seems to be a problem on my local radio

Someone mentioned this before on another thread I think and since reading that I've lost count the amount of times phone lines have dropped on RTE radio shows. Claire Byrne, Duffy, Drivetime etc all constantly lose connection with their callers. It's absolutely "bonkers" the amount of times it happens and stinks of incompetent and unprofessionalism from a national broadcaster.

A friend of mine, who is a plumber, has explained, that when RTE was built, they laid the telephone lines too close to the sewage pipes. Over the years, the very Toxic sewage from bathrooms at RTE, has corroded the pipes, leaking RTE's sewage, which is now eating through the telephone lines.

I’m not a plumber but I’d say it’s more likely the case that the outward-flowing verbal diarrhoea from the telephone lines have been corroding the sewage lines over time so to speak.

Right! Absolutely yawn. Let's go into busy cities for our first holiday after the pandemic. So unoriginal.

Have I got this right? Tubridy mused on what Elvis would have sounded like singing a particular song, and an impersonator records one for him?

    Wow, as Joe might say.
