Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I recently bought a Hurley and got is sent from Ireland to the UK. I won't mention to makers as I don't want it to hurt their business. When I finally received it the Hurley was slightly warped, twisted a bit all the way up it.

My questions are, doe sit effect the use? Do I need to fix it? How do I fix it? Or should I just send it back?

Also I asked for a cork style but it kinda looks like an in between of the usual and a cork cut

Is it the bas that is warped? If so you could sand it down to get a flat edge. If it is warped right up to the handle then I wouldn't use it. It could have dried out during transit depending on where it was stored and for how long. It will effect the hurley especially if you are a free taker as it will cause your shots to tail off.

Contact the makers and check if they would replace it.

I'm in the UK and find hurls seem to warp too. I bought a cultec fiberglass one. It's fine harder to controll the ball when coming at pace but get about 10 yards more striking, also on both of mine I've had to replace the grip. The were €35 each so the same price as a normal hurl, have lasted me 2 seasons where usually I was breaking 2 hurls a season.

    Fibreglass hurleys are sacrilege.

Hurleys are like children. If you cant look after them then you shouldn't have them! :P

Not a single one that I've found anyways. To be honest though, as an Irish sport and culture, we should be supporting Irish Hurley makers. Right?
