What about the couple of seasons when Evra took an age to get back into position after venturing forward? Or the number of brain-fart attempted bicycle-kick clearances that brought considerable ire on these message boards at the time?

Are they just casually being swept under the rug? Irwin will always be the better of the two for his consistency and professionalism alone.

Evra v Irwin is a no brainer for me. Irwin was consistent throughout his career at Utd. He was a defender first with Evra more attack minded. But I'd pick Irwin every day of the week over Evra. Could take a mean free kick too. Pen duties for a year or too if I remember right

I wouldnt mind Astana probably the weakest team in the draw. The away leg would be awkward but would hardly require a full strength line up to travel some big hitters could even rest in Manchester.
