    Thiago silva or javier Pastore.

Rumours on twitter Utd are in for a PSG player; could be one to look out for; seems nothing concrete so could be bs

    Anything to do with this?

Lavezzi? Can play up front and out wide.

Doubt Silva after the comments he made a few months back

    Cavani maybe?

Dont think he has been very good past couple years. Must be 28 or 29 now

    Done deal

West Brom agree fee with Man Utd for defender

Excellent player. Sad to see him go. Put in some great performances. Best of luck. Great signing for West Brom.

Some excellent performances, some God awful brain farts too. It's a pity he didn't realize his potential at United. May well bloom at the hawthorns

£8 million in total for Jonny Evans, a tidy little sum made.

That's some story on bleacher report, we are going to something like 76,000,000 for robben, no story ever really adds up on our transfers, I think van gaal is out their trolling all these journalists chuckling away to himself.

Anyone else think Hernandez may be gone this window too?

He looked totally out of sorts the other night when he came on, nearly looked miserable. Just looked all wrong.

Maybe reading too much into it but my first thought was he must be going.

Agree. I think his whole demeanour and body language is that of someone who knows he is only a stopgap... If we get someone, I'd say he is gone... Could be even a late deadline day one..

Don't think there was much between him at CB than Jones at the very least and maybe even Smalling. If it came down to it I'd rather Evans at CB than Jones.

will be an extremely underwhelming window if no more good signings come in, after such a promising start.

Underwhelming, seriously? We signed 3 excellent players in positions we needed filling. If Schweinsteiger can stay fit then all 3 will prove brilliant signings.

I often wonder what exactly some people expect. Did you want us to get Messi?

Not much of an argument, compared to Ferdinand and Vidic in their pomp which is what we should be striving for, he wasn't up to the task.

He has been shocking at PSG ,doesn't look anywhere near the same player he was at Napoli.
He was 30 last May so his best days are behind him I fear.

Tbh with Spurs already signing a striker and reportedly still after Berhaino AND United selling a home grown player I can actually see a certain player from Spurs coming. Don't know what to make of him tbh but this team needs goals, I am very happy with the rest of the team but up front is light.

Evans performed very poorly over the last two seasons. A player who stopped developing at twenty. We've done ok by getting eight million for him and another bit off the wage bill.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

I'd rather a right sided attacker than a number 9, signing a striker means Rooney plays at 10 again and he is just very mediocre as a creative maestro

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,433 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Off to Swansea in the morning via Bristol.

If United Score and ya see a person celebrating in Home Section it may be me forgetting I'll be in home end.:D

Great deal for an established premier league defender, Feel Evans could do better though.

If Stones to Chelsea goes through wouldn't be surprised if Everton made a cheeky bid.

Bale or Ronaldo are coming guys , we will offer real something crazy like 130m and dea gea for either

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,990 ✭✭✭✭Lithium93_

Would rather United throw silly money at Real for Bale, instead of giving them £130 million + De Gea.

Same here. We need pace on the right wing to stretch teams. We have it on the left with Memphis. Adding more pace to stretch teams would only open up the space for Mata/Herrera if we will ever bloody play them at #10.

Robben (for a reasonable price), Lucas Moura, Felipe Anderson, or even someone like Vela from Sociedad would be a better option than what we currently have. He has been excellent for Sociedad whenever I've watched them.

Griezmann would be the ultimate signing, but completely unrealistic at this stage.

3? 5 no? Goalkeeper as de gea will leave, darmian, schneiderlain, bastian, Memphis. Great window so far, just lacking the X factor signing, think it will be done soon though

I love or new positive bangkok, probably the best bitta work this transfer window bringing him over from the dark side. he will be the complete choo chooer when he accepts Fellaini into his heart.

He's very mediocre as a #9.Playing deeper with runners going ahead of him suits his game better.

Sad in a way to see Evans go....another 'Irish' link gone from the club, lost a lot of respect for him as a player though after the spitting incident last year.
He looked at one stage as of he was developing into a proper CB but it never quite happened. Its a decent fee though.

Would think he hasn't been allowed go without Woodward having a CB signing in pipeline before Tues as well as a right winger/striker.

Given how City/Chelsea are strengthening their squads we need AT LEAST 2 more quality players in ASAP.

when you see what other clubs have at no10, fellaini playing there would be a major step back for us. A good weapon to bring off the bench but not start and play games at no10, although I would play him there instead of Januzaj. I think the no10 role for Januzaj has come to quick and he doesn't have enough experience to play that role effectively

I think he is a very good number 9, had Chelsea signed him there would be no question but his versatility and the fact we have been horrific in attack for at least 2, arguably more, seasons now has clouded people's judgement.

Create chances for Rooney and he will finish them

Gonna give Ryan Babel a call, see what he thinks of United's Signings\chances this season.

    Some man.

I saw it mentioned earlier as a possibility but it's a joke if Fellaini begins to start games in an attacking position, surely the time of putting plasters over the cracks is well behind us with the amount of money spent and Van Gaal over a year in the job, because that's what Fellaini in an attacking position is, he'll do a job and might win us points but long term it's damaging our attack even more. I appreciate he was a part in getting top 4 last season, metaphorically speaking last season was like building a cardboard house, sure it did the job and weathered the storm but we should be creating something permanent and not blowdrying our cardboard walls in the hope it stays upright when the next storm comes.

Fellaini as a plan B is perfectly fine, but we need a plan A

Fellaini hasn't started a single game this season. Not even the games he was eligible for. Lets not go OTT here. He is not a key player. There is no indication he will be a key player. He is in the squad. He has some attributes and he's a good target to deliver a cross into. He was always in line to have some role in the team.

But evans has dropped down the line only repreating what guys have said but hoping for an injury crisis to get back into the team being 5-6 choice cetre back is a bad option for him.

For the small bit ive seen of WBA they are playing better football than under any pullis team ive seen in the past.

I really hopoe he does well and pushes on and becomes a boss for him he mightn't hav even taken a loss on wages and will get his loyalty bonus and a signing on fee plus prob a 5 year contract

Good moe for him financialy in his last big contract, I genuniely wish him the best.

We have 4 senior cbs and McNaiir plus Carrick in an emerrgency,

This time last season we had 5 players on the sidlines only one so far and a few missing match "rythm"

Player I want is also Greseman, but talk of robben for 73 is ridciulolous.

Bale is the signing that makes the most sense if they is an validity to the prices quoted. Can play RW 10 and at a push up front. Will be much better defended too considering he started off as a full back

High pressing teams Felaini has us an option to move the ball for goalie to right into the oppositions half i the goalie has good distribution considering his chest control and strength he will play in a t least 20 odd games this season for me

If only he was available for the Newcastle game. I reckon we would have scored.

Dont get me wrong, i like nice passing football, but 5-10 mins of crossing and aerial battles is very exciting in a different way.

He should be a bench option

The one the Ajax fans wanted shot of when he was playing CB for them?

IIRC he was playing LB and that's when they wanted him out.

Also we have enough depth for CB position.

Smalling - Blind is first choice
    Jones - Rojo
    Then comes McNair.
