    Hi, just wondering is there anyone here who can say if there is any noticeable quality improvement when using a dedicated soundcard?

    If you use high impedance headphones then yeah.

    Don't bother with PCI soundcards, just buy a ln external AMP/DAC.

    I use the soundblaster z or whatever it is with my senn 360 and really love the sound. Definitely for games like Battlefield etc it makes a huge difference due to the number of voices it can simultaneously broadcast but in other games it doesn't make that much of a difference if any.

    havent had a PCI soundcard in about 10 years dont ever see the need arising to get one.

    Also worth pointing out: if you use a headset with USB (like logitech G35 or G430) the audio processing and amp are inside the headphones. So it makes no difference what audio you have on motherboard or PCI card.
