Hi so I'm ordering my first proper pc from PCSpecialist and I'm looking for some advice from more experienced people than myself. I would like to get a computer that can play current games at at least high settings and will last at least 5 years. Here's what I'm thinking, though I'm not very technical. This build will cost €1200.

    Processor (CPU)
    Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-4790 (3.6GHz) 8MB Cache
    Case
    COOLERMASTER ELITE 311 BLUE CASE
    Motherboard
    ASUS® Z97-P: ATX, LG1150, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs
    Memory (RAM)
    8GB KINGSTON DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (1 x 8GB)
    Graphics Card
1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 750 - DVI, mHDMI, VGA - 3D Vision Ready
    1st Hard Disk
    240GB KINGSTON V300 SSD, SATA 6 Gb (450MB/R, 450MB/W)
    2nd Hard Disk
    1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 32MB CACHE
    1st DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM
    Memory Card Reader
INTERNAL 52 IN 1 CARD READER (XD, MS, CF, SD, etc) + 1 x USB 2.0 PORT
    Power Supply
    CORSAIR 450W VS SERIES™ VS-450 POWER SUPPLY
    Monitor
    ASUS VE228TR 21.5" LED DISPLAY, D-Sub, DVI-D

I'm really just looking for any feedback or help at all. Thanks

    Graphics card is absolute piss.

Would you be willing to build the PC yourself if I have you a parts list? You won't get what you're after on that money with a prebuilt

Will the 700 series have full dx12 support do you know?

I think so, but you want a GTX 970 or an R9 290 for those needs.

For comparison, if someone is putting €500 into a self build I'd tell them to get the 750Ti, so you can see how unbalanced this is.

You can build what you want for under €1000, going by those prices a 970 base PC will be setting you back €1600+

Processor and gpu seem abit overly balanced towards processor.

    Nice i5/9series combo works well

Drop CPU to an i5 4460 and up GPU to a GTX 970, I built one for a mate in May for €950 with these parts so I'd go off that for whether or not you're getting shafted

is that case suitable? few extra euro could make a massive difference for cooling and space
    Corsair or Aerocool
Im not an expert like others on here but I built my machine 6 months ago and im sorry I didn't spend just a little extra time investigating and extra money on my case, I went for a Zalman Z9 plus and my build is similar to yours

....Um, first thing about gaming PCs. Graphics cards determine how well you can play games. The 750 is bad.

The Trion 960 there is €958 incl. VAT and delivery, and is a bit better balanced, but the 960 still isn't the best card. I am adverse to building it myself too. :P

Building PCs is like expensive Lego, you can't break it unless you drop something or try to force it. There's one position and one orientation for every plug, and there aren't even that many to begin with.

Building an IKEA desk is more complicated, look up PC build tutorials on YouTube lads

Steve. This is another guy moe building a pc. Look at his price he only has to choose a case. His machine is going to be running on very high /ultra.

Yours on high. Only if you got a 960. The 750 is out of the question in a gaming pc on this budget.

    Maybe something to consider.

Will look on pc specialist see if you missing something.

    Checked.

It is possible to get an i5 4690 build decent corsair case h81mobo with a gtx 970, 8g ram, 120 gb ssd, 500 gb and monitor for 1250 delivered. if you drop windows and get it on reddit.

This would be a better way to go if you have to use pc specialist.

A 750 is going to be a mix of medium-low settings, it won't scratch high on AAA from 2013 onwards, never mind today's games

He didn't mention needing a monitor.

I just noticed a monitor was included. Don't get a monitor from them, I doubt they're competitive!
