I'm trying to foward port 8080 on my F2000 but when I try, I get this error message:
The external port cannot be 7547,514,68,53,546,500,1701,8443,8080,990,5060,28090,50000-50020.

Is there any thing I can do to change this?

    Hi ParalysedBeaver

I'm afraid eircom do not support port forwarding and as a result the advice we can offer will be very limited (ultimately I cannot offer you reasons for the failure of a specific port) - this can be arranged at your own discretion and if you would like to PM me your email address I'll email you a PDF detailing the steps involved in port forwarding on a F2000 modem.

    Cheers

    Dear Eircom,

This response is completely unsatisfactory. When we sign up for a service that includes a modem we expect the supplier of this modem to provide full support on this modem. Nowhere within the terms and conditions of the internet subscription is mentioned that:
    • we will not get support on port forwarding
    • we will not be able to forward certain ports
    • and even some ports that are possible to forward wont work
    [*]

Following the European consumer law Eircom has to, provide a functional device and support this wit all features and functions that are enabled within this device. It is clear that there are specific reasons why these ports are not possible to forward and Eircom is trying to get away with the message that they don't support it.

We demand proper equipment that functions and we demand full support on all functions of the provided device, we pay for this device, and believe me if I had a choice to take a different provider I would.

    Hi hatseflats

In relation to the terms and conditions of service please see 3(a) where is states "the modem remains the property of eircom and may only be used in conjunction with eircom broadband products and must comply with all manufacturers instructions and any other reasonable instruction provided by eircom". In consideration of this please take note that port forwarding is not supported by eircom as it can conflict with eircoms recommended settings. Follow here for broadband T&C's : http://www.eircom.net/opencms/export/sites/default/.content/pdf/terms/Part3.1.pdf

I can assure you no consumer rights have been breached here, If you feel the have you are welcome to take any neccesary action with a consumer rights authority.

Port forwarding can still be done on the eircom network although it remains at your own discretion.

    Thanks
    Al

I dont think you understand what I'm trying to say.

Some ports are not allowed to be forwarded like 1701 and some ports simply dont work when they are forwarded like 1723

Not providing support on solving this issue is in breach with the consumer rights.

I urge Eircom to provide a proper solution for this.

I'm sorry hatseflats there is no advice or contribution eircom can make to this. We do not help with port forwarding. No consumer irghts are in breach but if you do feel so you are welcome to contact the appropriate regulatory body.

    Thanks

    Al

I have the same issue.. I have been unable to reach my home server from outside the home LAN.. Creating forwarding rules seem to have no effect.. Neither new forwarding rules or using pre-set ones..

And I get the same response from the same people as here..

I have no complaints about my internet speed, TV service or WiFi reception but I NEED my server accessible.. It's starting to become really annoying.. I am not using it for business usage because if I did I would have escalated this complaint a lot further..

    HI Dexter1979

I had been in correspondence with you on the eir community, I'm aware boards.ie was recommended but eir will be unable to assist with port forwarding and it's best to look in other areas for advice with port forwarding
