Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Basically I found a pigeon that has an injury, maybe back/wing wound, it is tame. I found a tag on it's leg and it is a racing pigeon (IHU). I found a number online and rang them and they will get back to me about the owner. I am worried that if its wing is injured they are going to put it down. It seems alert, will drink water, know anybody that deals with this if I ask them and they say it would be put down? I can't keep the poor guy, wish I could. Are there any places that take in injured animals like this?

I can't tell how injured the poor guy is, but I see a would on his back and could be his wing too, don't want to lift it and hurt him.

How do you know he's injured? I mean what is he showing? Going by the pictures his wing doesn't look broken. The owner most likely won't be coming to collect him either way, they're useless if they've lost their way, which he'll presumably be trying to work out before he gets back to you.

You could ask an animal shelter but I can't imagine most would take him.

I took in a sick pigeon a few years ago and brought him to a vet. He gave me something to try him with, but it didn't work, and he said there's nothing else you can do for him so he put him down, free of charge.

Really doesn't look like his wing is broken, but if it is you'd need to get him to a vet, or find an animal shelter that will take him.

Edit, sorry didn't get that you meant a wound on his back. He's probably been thrown around with the strong winds, or been attacked by a cat. He will need to be seen by a vet.
