A friend of mine completely new to Limerick, is currently looking at two places,
one in Castletroy the other in Annacotty. Her plan is to rent out a room to help with repayments, could this be easily done?

Prices are certainly starting to go up by the looks of things. Anyone know of these Areas, would they suggest its a good time to buy?

    Thanks.

There is always a good rental market in Castletroy so renting a room or 2 out would be very easy.
You need to be a bit careful with some of the houses there as some of the estates are badly built and full of student houses.

Castletroy is a big area with a wide range of housing.

There are some parts of Castletroy that are lovely, other parts of Castletroy that are dreadful e.g. Elm Park, Willow Close, Alder Close, Ash Close.

The areas I've mentioned are badly built, populated by students and are used as cash cows by many landlords. Its not the nicest of places.

Annacotty is nice and in the catchment area of supposedly one of the best schools in the country.
Do some research on potential flood risks.

House prices in Limerick are pretty much below build cost. Rental stock is very low with high demand.
Can't go wrong once you do your homework
