Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi there Road Race fans, I'm heading up to Dundrod for the Ulster GP on Saturday and would appreciate any recommendations for good spectating spots ... ideally, some nice fast corners with a clear view of the entry and/or exit.

There's some good info on the UGP website (link below) but I'd value some first hand feedback from the good folk here.

Is it worth paying a few bob extra for a grandstand seat?

Do the marshals allow spectators to walk on the road in between races to change spectating spots or do you need to pick one spot and stay there for the day?

Any other advice for enjoying a good day's racing would be appreciated, e.g. how early in the morning would you want to arrive to secure a decent spot?

I hope the weather holds and that everyone gets around safely.

    Thanks for any info/tips.

    KHL

you can walk to a different spot between races, but as its a longish circuit your not really going to get that far, it's pretty fast everywhere , the big screens are a great idea, watch them go past and then seen the rest of the lap on the screen, be prepared for the weather, it can be bitterly cold up there, roads close at 9:30, the traffic can get a bit slow the later you arrive , before 9 you should be grand

id go to the grand stand area, trade, paddock area and then head upwards between dawsons bend and onto the quarries/ hairpin

you can move around between races within reason, but bring Welles/boots & warm gear, track is pretty much on top of a mountain.

If you there for the day you can always skip a race & got back to parking and drive round to any other side of the track, although like any race or rally you might have to walk a mile or so each way, bring a good map printout or set up your GPS before you go , bikes can gnerally park a lot closer to the track then the cars
