Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The two virtually open goal chances we gave them notwithstanding.

Hopefully we wrap up the Reus deal by the second half, would be great to bring him off the bench.

We're doing a Chelsea, all will be forgotten if we leave with 3 pts/

That's kind of like Charlton saying they're doing a Bayern Munich

God if we have a season of these aimless long balls to Benteke's head to look forward to it is going to be tough watching. We don't even have any runners off him if he wins the header. None of the three behind him like to make runs in behind. It is awful stuff all round. Midfield getting walked through.

Ings on for Lallana would be a move I'd like to see. When (if) Sturridge is back fit we'll be playing 2 up top most games, so we should be doing that now as well.

Ibe, Gomez, Clyne, Lovren, Benteke have all been fairly good.
 Benteke has done nothing of note. No movement off the ball to create space - he has stood around waiting for the ball to find him, or come deep to crowd the space of the attacking midfielders.

You don't have a winger who is going to get to the end-line to get crosses in for him. So, I think you may well see a sizeable amount of long balls up to him.

We started well, but everything fell apart after 10 minutes. Ibe, Gomez, Lovren all playing well but short of that, we look very ordinary. The most disturbing thing that I've seen so far is the lack of creativity in the team. Last year we had Sterling creating all sorts of chances (even if he failed to finish them). The likes of Lallana however look like very poor alternatives.

Lallana and Henderson have been terrible

I think Hendo is not fully fit. After 20 minutes he was panting very heavily.

Bloody Nora, can we at least try and press as a unit this season?

Hendo and Milner have been predictably awful as a midfield two, which isn't surprising really seeing as neither are natural centre-mids. Their positioning is tragic.

Eric Peters off and some other fella on.

Liverpool are playing like yellow-bellied cowards. I got sick in my lap during the first half.

would love to see a diamond with Ings up alongside Benteke for the last 20/25

0-0 draw would be a solid result.

Say what you want about Stoke, but the Britannia is one of the toughest grounds to play at in the league. For the first game of the season I don't expect much.

    That was better from Lallana.

Benteke as sharp as that rusty nail I trod on yesterday.
Just as painful to endure too!

The most anti-DM manager under the sun pushing a formation that the entire success of is built on a pair of them. the fúck is that.

They have most of their first choice defence missing along with a couple of other key players from last season. This is a very weak Stoke side and we should be doing much better.

I think that 3-5 result was the only league win we've had at the Brittania in the PL era.

No one is running into space, so little momentum being created.

    Swing of the arm there.

Lovren seems determined to put himself about.

Cowtintios final ball has been shocking. Is he a man or a tiny little child?

Yellow cards should not be given for players challenging for the ball.

Do they want this to turn into basketball?

I love the way Henderson is straight in there at the ref. Proper captaincy.

I completely agree but swinging an arm into somebodies face when the ball is in the air needs to be called a foul. And it rightfully was.

Looking better but Coutinho needs to find a pass

Nevermind a defensive coach. Can we get a cornerkick coach?

No, I was actually almost positive that was the correct spelling. Boy, I feel like a right fool now.

Stoke are playing with a makeshift back four and they are very comfortable so far.

At this rate with all the silly hoof balls to Bentekkers why didn't we keep big Andy.

Or bought Gestede for a fraction of the price.

    Or Lallana?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,668 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

Can for Lallana or Ibe I'd say

Ibe's playing better and Llanana is being wasteful, so obvilusly Ibe.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Can coming on makes no sense. We need a change more positive that unless it's going to allow one of the midfielders to get further forward.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,522 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

Our attacking three have been abysmal. Henderson not far behind. Milner and hendo do the same job and Milner does it better.

Lallana. His crossing has not been accurate to benteke.

If we take Ibe off, then manager would be securing a draw.
