Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Repeat a year

Hi there - I really hope someone can help me answer some questions regarding repeating a year as I more than a little worried.

I had a tough year overall and my college work suffered. I failed one exam and missed another so I am down for the repeats next week. My results were poor overall as I missed a lot of the year due to personal circumstances. I am wondering if i choose to to repeat (or not sit the repeats), will I be able to repeat the whole year (as in all subjects) ? This is what i would like to do. Some pages on the various NUIG sites say that I can repeat the year, others say I cannot repeat module already passed?

Any help would be much appreciated as I said, I am quite worried at this stage and I cannot seem to get any info from the college yet.
    Thanks.

You cant repeat modules passed before. Contact department your subjects are in/SU education officer etc on Monday morning to find out exactly what could happen.

I know people who have repeated the year and they could not repeat modules that they already passed.
However, I would contact your specific department to make 100% sure. It may be different for different schools.

Generally they won't let you repeat a module you have already passed. But if it's not a degree grade year I wouldn't sweat it (the one or two years that your degree grade is taken from), for example in a 4 year science degree only your last 2 years are taken into account so 1st and 2nd year don't matter grade wise.
