Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chris Smalling is the best CB in the league this season imo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

Smalling did well but Valencia is came out rather quick and left loads of space there. I'd be concerned about our right side for last few minutes, hopefully we hold out for the win

Real talk, his transformation under LvG has been incredible.

Apart from his kicking being dodgy at times Romeros had pretty good debut overall.

Sick in bed so have missed most of the match so far by the looks of it the keeper has done well so far but jebus this 4-5-1 muppetry is hopefully a once off this season, we need Cillessen, Pedro and a top quality defender brought in asap.

Harry Kane seems to have been non existent for Spurs, lets not buy him so.

    We need another keeper?

Maybe he doesn't want to take points from United because he wants to win the league with them this season. :pac:

United are looking very ropey here at the moment

Romero has a talent for making saves look a hell of a lot better than they actually are.

If De Gea goes yeah we would.

Darmian comes off, Valencia comes on and Spurs start to get joy targeting United's substitute RB.

I don't care as long as they don't go in :P

You wouldn't be willing to let Johnstone take back up to Romero?

They were two basic saves alright.

    Keep him for the u21.

There's no way he'll stay for u21s he'll go on loan to a championship team if he isn't back up

    Poor performance

Uninspiring win for Utd, but the result is the important thing. Spurs looked quite toothless really despite getting into some great positions.

To be honest most fans just wanted a good start result wise. 3 points and injury free are the main things and they were achieved. First game of the season of course won't be firing at all cylinders

Be interesting to see how Harry Kane handles his 'difficult' second season. Thjnk Spurs need to sign someone alongside him.

Terrible game, looking forward to some goals from the 3 o'clock kick offs. Not much between the teams and think there might only be a position or two between them come the end of season.

An improvement on last years start and against a decent Spurs side.

    Happy enough with that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,342 ✭✭✭Bobby Baccala

    Poor performance by both teams

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,796 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Spurs look like they are completely dependent on Eriksen and Kane - if there are injuries to either, they could be seriously in trouble.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Pretty poor display but 3 points the most important thing.

Really happy with darmian and Memphis.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,790 ✭✭✭Bret Hart

    Top of the league :)

I'll take that hope things get a lot better though.

Clean sheet without DDG, Woo Hoo!

Looks like it's gonna be the same United as last year. If they don't improve on their players in the top half of the pitch, they're gonna struggle against the lower sides again.

Good start - no real standout performances but United looked very comfortable for long, long stretches of the game. All the new players all did well. Got the result from what could have been a tricky game.
