Living room HTPC replacements

Hey guys,

since Windows Media Center is now end of life I'm looking at a few options to replace my HTPC in the living room. The room is pre-wired with satellite speakers but when I remove the HTPC I'd need a new dvbs receiver, a sub and an amp.

A few questions:
Would a humax 1100s work ok down south?
I was thinking a Tannoy SFX sub
I only need a basic amp with a few HDMI inputs - any recommendations? Also is there such a thing as a mono zone 2?

Yes the Humax box will work perfectly well in Ireland, tho you won't be able to get any of the UK channels, but you will get all the local channels etc - we have a lot of customers from ROI have bought the Humax boxes and never any problems

For the amplifier, there are 3 amps which are similar spec, but all have a slight variation, so it would depend on your requirements.

The Pioneer 329 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200613-vsx329.aspx - £149/€219 - the only one of the 3 with 1080p upscaling
The Sony STRDH550 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200671-strdh550.aspx - £199/€229 - the highest power output at 140wpc
The Yamaha RXV377 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200458-rxv377.aspx - £179/€269 - The only one with smart phone control

Personally, the Sony would be the best all rounder if you just wanted something basic

Pricing for these 3 would be as follows:

Humax HDR1100s - €279.99
Sony Strdh550      - €229
Tannoy SFX sub     - €149

Total                      -  €657.99

unfortunately the Strdh550 is heavily reduced in euro pricing so I wouldn't be able to reduce it any further, so for all 3 items the best i could offer would be €645 including delivery
