Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Surely one of the defenders should be charging out trying to block that shot.

I even got Everton yesterday, sad times.

    F*ck me.

    What are we like?

Cech looked unsighted there, had his weight going the other way, by the time he saw it it was too late. Looked worse for him than it was. Not great luck on a day when things haven't gone well for him.

Lol arsenal challengers. I'd have more faith in Liverpool. Arsenal once again believing their own hype.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,920 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Arsenal looks pretty nervy at the back, few losing the head out there.

    People are a bit extreme.

Have West Ham played well? Yes
Have they been the better team? No
Have they taken their chances? Yes
Is Cech having a shocker? Yes
Was he unsighted for the second goal? Yes

I would still be surprised if Arsenal can't score 1 or 2. I would equally be surprised if West Ham don't score again :D

Farcical defending, they don't even lazily stick a leg out. As he strikes it, they're all standing 5 yards away from him doing nothing.

    Arsenal are infuriating.

I usually avoid handicap betting until a few weeks into the season to see how teams are playing. Almost backed the gunners at -3 today though

Debuchy needs to bring back his mohawk.

Missed the preamble, why did sanchez not start?

Alexis for Debuchy. If nothing else, the rest of this match will be entertaining.

I hate how poor head injuries are managed in football. Giroud and Tomkins should not be back on that pitch.

Loving West Ham's performance in the second half.

This has been very comfortable for West Ham.

Were the lads knocked out cold?

The way Giroud fell to the ground, there's no way he was knocked out cold.

The stream I'm watching is from a US channel and the commentator said that there is a new rule that allows teams a free substitution to bring on a player while one of their players who has a head injury is assessed to see if he's fit to continue. They can then just swap the players around again if he is ok or leave it as it is if he's not. I didn't know that but it's a good rule imo, even if it is open to abuse.

Jaysis. This dire stuff. Only positive to take is the invicibles tag will be gone!

I'd almost love to see an epic 3-2 comeback here to stick it to those fans leaving early.

    Almost.

It's hard to believe that this is the full Arsenal squad bar one. Dire.

Really like Bilic. Remember him been class act when arsenal beat him last season

Too easy for West Ham. Dealt with everything we attempted with ease.

The second goal conceded was either criminal or comical.

    Serious reset of my expectations

Fair play West Ham. Better team won. Well organized all over the park.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Arsenal look like they gave up 15 minutes ago.

    Pathetic.

Commentator is saying West Ham have to hang on for 5 minutes, but to be honest they're not hanging on. They're looking like deserved winners.

  • Surprised at this west ham, thought they were in trouble this year
    Great performance

Unfortunately we flatter to deceive frequently. Disappointing but we need to learn from it.

They fully deserve it. A fantastic demonstration of being solid and taking your chances on the break. Great effort.

On the plus side, shows the need for world class striker. 20 attempts, 4 on target. Brutal.

Wenger was doing a Frank Spencer facial expression there a few minutes ago.

Fantastic result. West Ham gave a solid performance at the back. Arsenal, heavy weights for the title some have mentioned? Delusional thinking it was a forgone three easy points in the bag.

Good result for West Ham. Looked like a hard working, technically competent team. If they can maintain that performance level outside of a London derby and past the new managers honeymoon period, they'll be okay this season.

Worth noting that West Ham have played 6 competitive matches since the beginning of July, bound to have an impact.
