My niece is a teacher in a private school and tell me she couldn't be seen at school in an outfit out of Dunnes stores.

Feck's sake. And Dunnes has actually got some really lovely clothes that could believably have been purchased in a fancier place.

Ali Hewson shot a Vuitton ad* wearing the gear in question accessorised by Oxfam (her own pick). Money does not buy class. Never has. Never will. It'll catch you a bargain but only if you have the eyes in your head and not what other people tell you.

    Lolburger.

That is the most ridiculous nonsense I have ever read. As if teachers in private schools in Ireland earned large incomes... bah.

I can't imagine why you'd be embarrassed shopping in Aldi/Lidl. I think people were more likely to be eejits like that 10-15 years ago. Nowadays, shopping in the cheaper shops is what allows people to have their snazzy cars or holidays.

I swapped from Tesco to Aldi and like it, though I'll go to Tesco sometimes for particular stuff I can't get in Aldi. I do save about 80 quid a month but the main reason I keep going there now is that it's too much effort to go to the massive Tesco in my town. It takes too long to walk around and the queues are no shorter than Aldi. Supervalu is good for some things but too dear for a big shop and I'm not gone on a lot of their own brand stuff.

What difference does the price make if you're going to steal them?

I'll have you know that I'm the most honest thief you are ever likely to meet

I'm only embarrassed when I have to shop in the kids section because the adult sizes are too big.

If I have the money I'll generally shop in Dunneses, as I feel Ben Dunne is my kind of guy.

If Im looking to penny pinch, or just want to see what's fashionable among people who do drugs, it's Lidl.

Lidl reminds me of when I was on the (Bob) Dole. (and didn't have a bob)

The only place i'd be embarrassed of shopping would be an adult store, for a dido or what have you.

I feel your pain, and i want to help!

(excellent quality, and much better than the ones on special offer in Aldi, which turned out to be power washers!)
