My niece is a teacher in a private school and tell me she couldn't be seen at school in an outfit out of Dunnes stores.

I can't imagine why you'd be embarrassed shopping in Aldi/Lidl. I think people were more likely to be eejits like that 10-15 years ago. Nowadays, shopping in the cheaper shops is what allows people to have their snazzy cars or holidays.

I swapped from Tesco to Aldi and like it, though I'll go to Tesco sometimes for particular stuff I can't get in Aldi. I do save about 80 quid a month but the main reason I keep going there now is that it's too much effort to go to the massive Tesco in my town. It takes too long to walk around and the queues are no shorter than Aldi. Supervalu is good for some things but too dear for a big shop and I'm not gone on a lot of their own brand stuff.

Lidl reminds me of when I was on the (Bob) Dole. (and didn't have a bob)

The only place i'd be embarrassed of shopping would be an adult store, for a dido or what have you.
