Guess I wasn't following Fingal CC closely enough.
I notice this weekend that the speed limit from Rush to Lusk is now 60km/hr. (does it go any further? Blake's cross?)

Anyone know the rationale behind this? It seems a lot of people driving to work this morning were unaware :)

Has the Rush > Skerries road also been reduced?

I see some details about it here:

rsa.ie/en/RSA/Road-Safety/Our-Research/Collision-Statistics/Ireland-Road-Collisions/ zoom in select all years and all types of collisions

-the railway station (very busy, very bad sightlines, turns exiting either car park to cross the bridge are really exciting and no pedestrian crossing),
    boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=89897826

-close to the old mill/spout road junction (there is a memorial there),

-at the entrance to the soccer club pitches on station road, again very bad sightlines and can get very busy.

-It is also the main route for artics into Rush (obviously) and Skerries.

If you look just exiting Lusk you can see the Garda RTA markings for a car vs motorbike collision

Yep, exiting the station and cars emerging from Spout road can be quite dangerous.
I wonder what other options were proposed? I suspect that the limits will be mostly ignore by drivers (after a initial heightened enforcement period)

I kinda thought they would bring in ramps or lights around the station at some stage.

I had a look around http://www.fingal.ie/roads-and-travel/roads-bye-laws but couldn't see anything related. Same goes for searching for R128.

The r132 is 60 now from Newtowncorduff all the way to the roundabout for Tesco Distribution centre past Turvy.

The road from Blakes X to Lusk is 60 until past the old school at Hanna's avenue
The speed limit on ministers road is 50 out to the big house opposite the driving range, which is sensible. The 80 limit on the Skerries road outside Lusk Village estate is gone too, also sensible.

But there is a new end of speed limit at the turn into Kilhedge lane, where you can drive at 80...
