Future liability for boundary maps

I'm one of two executors of an estate - as part of the sale of the deceased's house, we have been asked to sign a declaration that we'll accept any expenses should the buyers require any further maps defining the property boundaries. The house is in a '60's estate in Dublin. We've already got an OSI map showing clear boundaries but I'm curious as to why the seller should have to accept liability for what should be for the buyer to fully satisfy themselves with before buying.

Our solicitor assures us that it is just a formality. Is it a standard document as part of the sale process?
