The open workouts for 189 were pretty good, but very drawn out. For us anyway we had been on our feet all morning, so standing at the workouts for about 3 and a half hours was a tough ol slog. But it was cool to see those guys train in person. There was a great buzz at the end when Conor dived into the crowd and he must have taken a selfie with every single person there.

Apparenelt the open workouts for 194 are actually going to be held in the arena themselves this time, so that'll be fairly cool

Yeah workouts are in MGM at 12pm on Thursday. On 1 hand I'm thinking goto everything, take in as much of the UFC experience while I'm in Vegas but on other hand I;m thinking that I might(probably) not ever get out there again so try to see the GC.

I'll probbly not make my mind up until just before I go or when I get there. I could plan to go the GC and someone could landfill it or something in the meantime :D

I would expect everything to be pretty expensive but I thought if you were gambling you got free drinks? My thinking was to do that and neck a lot in a short time then just top up on paid drinks lol

Didn't find service very good very slow to get a drink, easier to sit there with me can, try a four loko and a nagen that will save time, fireball save alot of time as well haha

Strictly speaking, yes drinks are free when you are gambling but unless your winning, drinking this way ends up costing you a lot more than sitting at a bar and paying for it.

A lot of people try and just play the penny slots but youve a better chance of seeing santa around the slots than you have of seeing a waitress. The waitresses know where the big tippers are so they locate themselves accordingly.

The Poker rooms are a good place to get a few drinks as they usually have a few wsitresses permanently situated there and if youre on a budget its easier to keep an eye on what your spending at poker than it is at the likes of blackjack or craps.

Edit: The MGM actually has one of the best poker rooms on the strip as well.

Do you know what the stakes(lowest lol) are? Tournaments or cash games? Could play tight and fold most hands if trying to save money unless there is an ante? I'll probably check out the MGM casino on the Friday after weigh ins and before Joe Rogan show as I'll have some time to waste.

Sorry if asking this upsets anyone but the fight isn't for another 5 weeks.

Another question while I'm at it :D Asked earlier in thread but don't think anyone answered. Are there any Irish bars or places that will likely be showing the boxing(sky PPV) on the Saturday? Really want to see Spike O Sullivan punch the bake off Eubank jr, should be a good start to the day lol

MGM has morning and evening $50 tournaments AFAIR. Cash game action usually starts up in the early evening. Mostly NL tables. Starting from $1/$2. Cheap and cheerful.

If youre down the other end of the strip, Caesars has a decent enough poker room.

I was walking through casinos, shopping centres while looking in the window of Versache and Gucci shops and past coppers on the streets and not one thing was said to me.

I was there in July and heading over again in December and I'd definitely recommend going to Downtown. Lots of excellent bars and prices are far cheaper than on the Strip so starting your night there before working your way towards the Strip could be an idea.

Keep in mind that Uber/Lyft was finally launched in Vegas in September so you can avoid the extortionate taxi charges by using the app over there

I dunno if I'd have the patience for a tournament, maybe give the cash tables a go. Is it chips on table only(ie they cant raise you like a grand knowing you'll have to fold)?
I'm staying in statospher which is apparently bit out of the way but I dunno what end its at. I read the slots apparently are good payouts to try & attract people to it :D I'll only be sleepin in it anyway, don't really wanna hang about when there is so much more to see.

lol classy! I read that they basically let tourists nearly get away with anything because tourists are their economy and its not in their interests to piss off tourists but locals don't get away with much.

Is that freemount or something? I read about that too, its like the original Vegas street with the big cowboy neon light. Heard it was a must to check out

I dunno if that would save any money when factoring in roaming data charges

Obviously if you're gonna be using your Irish sim out there but you'll pick up a 7 day sim these days for about $15-20 and you'll get half a gig of data included

    Yeah but its awful.
Every casino offers free wifi but you have to "register" with name and email address everytime you go to a new casion, or a different wifi zone.

The MGM network crashed on the day of weight-ins due to the amount of people trying to log on to show their fight club pass for early entry. Bring a print out if thats the plan.

Its pretty standard in terms of rules in any of the Las Vegas poker rooms, so yeah its just what you have in front of you at the start of the hand, no shipping chips etc.

I've never been up as far as stratosphere (opposite end of the strip to the MGM) but I do know its so far up the strip as to almost not be classed as being on the strip at all, so if i was you, i'd be hitting up the concierge desk first thing and enquiring about a 3 day bus or monorail pass unless you want to spend a fortune on taxi's or spend half the day walking.

I've never seen a card room where you could do that. It only happens in Bond films

Thanks. Its funny you say that about that stratosphere because the shuttle Ive booked from airport had 2 options, 1 for hotels on the strip and 1 for downtown(I think) area and the strat fell under the downtown option. The mevegas fb game that was posted ages ago has monorail passes so I might get 1 through that if the monorail goes out that far :D

There are some really good fan made promo videos out. I'm not sure my heart could do with much more hype lol I wonder if the UFC want to put much money into promoting it after Aldo pulling out of 189

Got the app for it and have been building up points the last two months! :D

Over 40,000, enough for a comped meal or two in certain places, it's feckin brilliant!

It does seem really good. I got blackjack on my phone & the slots thru fb on laptop. The slots Ive got over 80000 points  Seen you can get tickets for some magician/illusionist so might use them on that for the last night. Plenty of buffet deals and stuff too just a pity for some of them you need to be staying in that hotel. I def want to use some of them to see the shark tanks though, could be a good little break from the madness for hour or two walking round looking at sharks(in the desert haaa) while hanging

One tip I got for the MyVegas apps is to download both phone apps through Amazon rather than the Google Play Store as the Amazon app is an older version that gives out far more loyalty chips compared to the Google version so you can build loyalty points far quicker.

Also join a facebook group called MyVegas Friends as they stockpile all free bonus chips for both mobile and facebook games. Just click on the links they supply and they're added to your game

I've been doing the same. Already have a 2 for 1, 3 day mono rail pass and a 2 for 1 breakfast/lunch buffet at the Luxor (which is where I'm staying) I have another 25k of those gold coins/pts that I've yet to decide what to cash them in for.

Bear in mind there is usually a limit for how many you can redeem over a 30 day period.

3 or so rewards, I think it is.

I see. Wonder if hes doing more work on his take down defence.

Such an intriguing fight. Just cant predict any outcome.

Been a good while since Jose fought, wonder is he as fresh as before.

I would not stay his take down defence was bad. He had a severe knee injury going into that fight and he was not able to train wrestling.

He was also going against the best wrestler in the division...

I also cannot wait to see the fight. Conor is training well and looks great in the gym. I think being home is great for him.

I'll be there from the start for three reasons:

    1) Love the sport
    2) For 275 big ones I better be getting my money's worth
    3) I have an aisle seat, which is the dream for anyone who likes the drink! :D

Vegas is actually on Pacific Time so it starts at 3.30pm.

It's easy to make it into prelims at 6.30pm, it's the 3 hours earlier after a big night the night before when you see who are the 'super fans'.

Mods please remove this if not appropriate.

Girlfriend has surprised me with a trip to Vegas on the fight weekend for my 30th.

I have to try and source a ticket now naturally. Anyone point me in the right direction or is anyone looking to sell some? I have a fight club membership but I'm guessing all that's left on ticket master is the very expensive seats?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
