Different strategy. Get as many potential price risers in. Hope a good few rise twice and them get them out before the WC ends pocketing 0.1 profit.

Looks like you should get a couple of .2s there I would think. Did you fire her up last night before a few of those risers?

Unfortunately not. It would have been the right idea though

Yeh important to WC as soon as the deadline passes still not too much damage done though should still add a net .4/.5 I would think.

Yeah. Haven't actually popped the transfers yet. Gonna stew on it for the evening

90% Sure I'm wildcarding this week.

Unless someone can see any hope for these chaps going forward.

    GK
Ruddy-Hennessey (Ruddy in for Courtois after last week's red)

    Def:
    Bellerin, Cedric, Huth
(Targett, Taylor: 4.0 bench fodder thought they were most likrly to get early gametime)

    MF:
    Silva, Hazard, Mane, Walcott, Bentaleb

    For
    Defoe, Benteke, Rooney

    1.0 ITB

    Really only happy with
Ruddy, Huth, Silva, Hazard and Defoe/Benteke (as 3rd Striker) long term

so can anyone see the benefit of going on as I stand without major surgery?

Even at that I'd probably still ship Huth for a premium Def and Hazard for Costa when I WC

Any opinions on this fixing this mess without a WC before I pull the trigger?

Seen Courtois touted to drop on the price change thread, could counteract the 0.1 I lost on Walcott if I got him in after a drop.

So caved to the pressure and now my WC is active. Thoughts please. Main issue is whether to keep fabregas, Sanchez, benteke or go with another combo to get hazard back and upgrade saylor to a playing 4.5.. 2 in the bank..

    Myhill, but land
Ward, alder, huth, Richards, s Taylor
    Sanchez fabregas payet Mahrez cabaye
    Aguero benteke Gomis

Impossible to foresee it happening last night imo. Ayew is the only one we missed out on. I have him in as I'll probably be keeping him post WC.

Played mine anyway. Usually prefer to wait until the international break, but have to get in early. Would have been taking a -4 to get Aguero in anyway, but Ayew and Gomis are looking too good to leave out of team, and could be some nice rises for a lot of players this week and next.

Have made a terrible start, after today's results I have 38 pts overall,GW rank of 1,195,000 and an Overall rank of 2,580,000 :(.....
Am seriously considering Wildcarding tonight,a gentle push would convince me,with this kind of ranking would you in my shoes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

If I don't WC I'm going to lose at least 0.4 on team value tonight, plus I'll lose out on at least 2 players I want because of price rises.

I cannot afford it at this stage.

    Wildcard activated.
Smalling, Darmian, Albrighton, Payet, Gomis and Aguero in
PVA, Francis, Ozil, Depay, Deeney and Rooney Out.

More changes to come tomorrow but I think I have covered those who might rise/fall tonight.

I wouldn't say that is absolutely true. If you're not going Costa or Hazard as your premium attacking priced players then you're better off without Chelsea attackers IMO.

He has Courtois so he's covered on the defensive side.

Anyone with an active wildcard who isn't simultaneously on every conceivable bandwagon is doing it very, very wrong.

It's Hazard or no one for me. I'll risk going without as I wouldn't be captaining him for a while.
Courtois will hopefully close to match and points from Ivan/Azpi.

Yep. The team I posted is what I think I may end up with, but I've brought all the potential price risers in for now.

It's ... interesting. Not a very popular tactical formation but nothing majorly wrong with the team you posted. I agree with CSF re Chelsea and with Silva & Sanchez it should not be too complicated to fit Hazard if needs be.

The only thing is if a dearer forward explode (e.g. Benteke or Giroud) you may be in trouble getting him in since you'll need at least £2.0m to £3.0m to free somewhere else.

Also Kolarov may not be guaranteed now that Clichy's back (last year they rotated).
You may have a bit of a selection dilemma if Koné keeps his current form but in the end we all have one.
    Who's a better 5.0 than alder I wonder? Could go with 2 4.5s...
    One of the Swansea lads?

looks balanced apart from cheapie strikers, do you much left in the bank, I'd feel vulnerable without Chelsea attacking cover. (Would selling Silva be the only way to do this? )
No united attacking cover but that's not as worrying (Darmian or Shaw could make up for this with possible CS's and assists)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,831 ✭✭✭shineon23

    Wildcard on the go

Am I missing any obvious bandwagons that could rise twice?
haven't hit any risers so far

Hazard -20% to a drop and Dier only +3% to rise so not concerned with moving on either.

    Ruddy,McCarthy

    Shaw, Smalling, Richards, Targett, Bellerin

    Albrigthon, Payet, Barkley, Silva, Hazard

    Defoe, Zarate, Gomis

Leaning towards holding off lads. I take you lot have pulled the trigger now.

There do seem to be a good few price risers but only maybe 4 cert 0.2s and I think almost any week you'll get at least 2 or three bandwagons.

Not too unhappy with my team.

Only one player, Gomis, who I might want imminently is rising tonight.

    No fallers affecting me.

Feckit, will I go for it or take a -4?

This is the strongest 15 players ive seen in a team- first glance looks nice balance
But I think I would downgrade
kolarov- rotation risk but great fixtures. 4.5 def leicster def maybe-
Gomez- have him myself and as a pool fan feel moreno will get his place back in next 2/3 weeks. as your 15th man i'd downgrade him to a 4mil bench fodder

Potentially saving you 1.5 and only .5 short to upgrade a fwd to gomis for 7.

I'm not using the WC despite almost getting swept up with everyone else earlier, even if there's things I'd like to do to my team.

That may help you make up your mind and go for the WC :P

I'm holding off. I currently have enough to bring in Aguero for Kane, so I might do that depending on the city game.

Go for it. Only have it for first half of the season so unlikely doubles, and some good players who could be kept for a while

If I do the transfers just posted on the other thread I'll have the following for -4...

    McCarthy,
    Bellerin, Huth, Bassong (Coates, Gomez)
    Silva, Payet, Fabregas, Mahrez (Fletch)
    Aguero, Gomis, Rooney

Doesnt really justify the WC only for team value. When Beneteke spins my ranking to shît on Monday night I may well regret not playing it though.

Played my wildcard and team stands as

    (Mignolet), Mc Carthy

    (Gomez) Clyne Smalling Shaw (Richards)

    Silva Ayew Payet Mahrez (Albrighton)

    Aguero Gomis Kone

It's not a bad team but is defo overkill (or is it) on 3/4 teams.

    I.e
    Man City (away to Everton)
    Man U (home to Newc)
    Swansea (away to Sunderland)
    Leicster (home to Spurs)
Liverpool (away to Arsenal) but only have 1 starting this week and could rotate when they have their upcoming home games.

Obviously I'm looking to catch price rises but has anyone experience playing a team based off only a few teams and if so what a general experiences - do they do well over a 6 week period?

That's the way I try to play of possible.

-Lump in as many premium players as possible to get a strong first 11.
Top 6 clubs mostly and try avoid sides struggling or near the bottom.

Last year I think I had 7-8 players from Chelsea-City-Arsenal for the majority of the season.
Then southampton defender, Kane, and AN Others made up the rest.

Has been tough to do that so far with fewer low priced premium defenders but if I can squeeze them in and hit price rises I'll try. But I think I'll have to do a cheapie rotation.

I find it leaves fewer selection headaches and feel more confident in top teams doing consistently well, which allows the core of team to stay in place long term
leaving me to tinker with my squad players with weekly transfers.

Haven't been able to do that this season yet but it'll be the goal.
