Yep, good spot, brought him in for the moment to have all 3, no worries about Benteke at the moment. Looks like I'll end up with something like this -

    Romero McCarthy

Kolarov Gomez Richards Ward Oneother prob Oxford

Sanchez Ayew Payet Cabaye Oneother - Oscar, depending on injury news

    Aguero Benteke Deeney

I want to get in City players but i don't really want to Wildcard yet. But i want Kolorav, Silva and Aguero i may have no choice with price rises.

    Gomez

    ----Mane
    Hazard
    Maharez----Depay

Sanchez and Benteke, Sanchez seems to be finding form and Benteke looks like he will be heavily involved in assists and goals on the back of the Bournemouth match. Yaya has obviously started well but so much spark in that attack and assuming you have Aguero I think thats enough from City. Costa hasn't looked great so far this season.

Here's my team if I play wildcard - courtois butland (gk)
Gomez kolarov Davies ward Francis (df)
Hazard Sanchez Westwood young mahrez (mid)
    Aguero tekkers deeney (fw)
    Any good? Any recommendations?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

Is that Young as in Ashley Young? Heavy rotation candidate, especially if Memphis is moved out left.

Would appreciate some advice lads. I had planned on doing a 'mini WC' this week by taking a -4 or -8. Already taken a -4 and now have:
    Mignolet/Ruddy
    Martesacker/Darmian/Huth/Mings/Targett
    Ozil/Mane/Payet/Henderson/Mahrez
    Aguero/Rooney/Deeney

    0.8m ITB

The problem is that prices are moving so quickly I will lose money on Mings and Mane and possibly on Rooney and Henderson. Added to that is Silva (who I want long term) is rising to 10.1m.

There is no way I can get Silva in without taking a -12 so am thinking about just hitting the WC and doing my 'mini WC' after GW4 or 8, when I planned to WC anyway.

By saving 2 FT I could make 4 changes for a -8 at that time.

Good idea? Bad idea? Worst idea ever? All opinions appreciated!

What's the thoughts on WCing this week.
I had a solid enough week, 51 points but no Aguero, Sanchez, Mahrez or Swansea cover.
I'm very tempted to go to

    Romero
    Butland

    Damian
    Gomez
    Oxford
    Galloway (Everton)
    Bellerin

    Sanchez
    Mahrez
    Payet
    Yaya
    Westwood (villa)

    Benteke
    Aguero
    Gomis

    Thoughts please

Solid team except in defence. Switch Bellerin for Kolarov though as he has great form and great fixtures.

Oxford won't get much time, if any and galloway is only a short term option as baines is out. If gomez loses his place you could be very short in defence so i'd recommend replacing galloway and oxford with 4.5m defenders with guaranteed time.

My thinking there was Oxford is 4m and might play, I'm happy enough with that risk. Baines is out for three months so I'm hoping Galloway will play.

What's the thinking behind pulling apart a reasonable team at this stage with a WC, should it be saved?

My team at the moment is
    Cech
    Hennessy

    Oxford
    Ivanovic
    Gomez
    Huth
    Cedric

    Fab
    Silva
    King (Bournemouth)
    Sinclair (Villa)
    Ramsey

    Giroud
    Benteke
    Rooney

What are people doing about Chelsea players.

Dropping them I would think. Terry and Ivan too dear, Fab brutal, Hazard not yet performing, keep Costa maybe but why wouldn't you just upgrade to Aguero?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,502 ✭✭✭spock.

What are people doing about Chelsea players.

Hazard is too expensive right now and I'm not interested in Costa or Fabregas.

Just going with Courtois as I want Chelsea defensive coverage.
I think Chelsea's defence may be being slightly underestimated. Conceding 5 goals in 2 games is bad but they were down to 10 men in one and away to the best attacking team in the league in the other.
I would still fancy them to keep the most clean sheets this season.

Yeah. Need to be positioned to get hazard in at some stage. But for now only courtois at 5.4 is tempting.

City treble up with silva, aguero and probably kolarov plus Sanchez and two mid price mids will be the gw3 wildcard template id say.

I'm still wary of Clichy but lots of wiser people than me are piling on kol. hopefully clichy'll get cups and Europe.

What are people doing about Chelsea players.

Currently have none. Its one of the reasons I'm holding off on the WC. I can't justify any of them at present, but you just know some of them will hit form.

If I was picking some I wouldn't go outside Courtois/Azpi and Hazard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,935 ✭✭✭AdpRo

What are people doing about Chelsea players.

Hazard is really the only midfield option. I don't think it's possible to have him,Sanchez,Silva & Kun in a decent balanced team. For me it's Hazard that has to miss out at the moment.

Costa is a nutcase so I'm staying away! Courtois is the cheapest way into the Chelsea defence so I'd say he will be my only Chelsea player.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,009 ✭✭✭kronsington

    current wc draft..

i honestly dont know what to do as regards top mfs and which chelsea players to go with or whether to ditch for the moment..

    butland, myhill
    richards, huth, darmian, ward, williams
    payet, mahrez, fabregas, toure, sanchez
    aguero, gomis, kone

will see how mahrez carries on,, may downgrade at a later date if he peters out... major questions marks over fabregas in there but i need chelsea cover in there somewhere..

any thoughts on this at all? i know mahrez is the form mf but i may just not have him as my 5th mf ih he's too much. or i could risk not having payet. replace him with a dud allowing me 3 "big namers".. in short, i havent a clue really.. tempted to have only courtois as my chelsea cover for the time being

Ok so I'm undecided on whether to WC or not.

If I WC I stop the rot in terms of price reductions and potentially get a team with Sanchez, Hazard and Aguero in it.

    Here is my current team

    Current.jpg

Here is one option I could WC to -

    Option_1.jpg

    And option 2

    Option_2.jpg

People's thoughts would be most welcome.

Not enough changes there to warrant a wildcard IMO. You've missed the boat on value this week in any case. A couple of transfers maybe a 4 or 8 point hit would sort you right out.

My hit was to bring Aug in. Got rid of Rooney for Aguero and Pelle for Gomis to free up the cash.

Means I'm going to have to take the hit with Francis.

Yeah if it's just one guy defo not worth the wildcard. As prudent as you need to be with value, points always come first, and there'd be an opportunity cost with using a wildcard at a time you don't really need to.

What are people doing about Chelsea players.

Have Courtois back in now. Can't ignore him at 5.4
Chelsea defence haven't suddenly become woeful in 2/3 games, treating Swansea as a blip and they weren't likely to shut out Arsenal (Community Shield) and City. Saying that, Azpiliqueta/JT/Ivanovic are too dear to risk.

Haven't seen enough from Hazard to warrant me tying up 11.5 in him,
going to rotate Costa and Rooney (based on champions league performance for who I'll pick Saturday).

Then if Hazard takes off I'll downgrade the Costa/Rooney spot and upgrade a MF to Hazard.

Other premium attackers are Aguero, Silva, Sanchez and wouldn't risk dropping any of them for an extra Chelsea attacker at this stage.

Suppose Sanchez to Hazard and Costa/Rooney to Giroud up front is viable later on.

    *All plans subject to change.

    What are thoughts?

    Kompany + Toure

    or

    Kolarov + Silva

Was hoping I'd get a .2 rise out of Toure before having to decide but tonight's the night for it.

    I'm in same situation.
For me it's Kolarov over Kompany regardless of the midfielder.
So it's just down to Silva vs Yaya + 1.5 invested elsewhere.

Given the fact that a few key players are eating into my budget, I think I'll opt with Yaya and the money. Breaks my heart as I love Silva.

Like the look of that side, would be a bit concerned for you that Gomez could be a flash in the pan but a transfer would sort that.Darmian for Utd would be my fullback choice over Shaw, less chance of rotation,I think your midfield ate all 'in form' and good for a while and same for your attack.

Difficult choice. I'd probably prefer Silva but that 1.5 extra is big. Don't need to scrimp on 3rd forward or defence with it.

Depay is in, 352 but 0.3 short to keep Mahrez instead of Albrighton. Will be happy with either really.

On WC ...have current back 5 to chase rises of.
    Darmian
    Shaw
    Smalling
    Kompany
    Richards

Have to decide tonight who to dump out of Shaw,Smalling and Kompany to bring in Kolorov as a season keeper as Kolorov will rise .2 I think this week.????

Long term am thinking of likely defence of
Darmian,Kompany or Smalling ,Kolorov,Richards. An other cheapie as defence.

Any thoughts appreciated lads.....This rises chasing is stressful:)

Understand that completely but will Liverpool are keeping cleanies & he is playing il make hay. Plenty other alternatives at 4.5 that will pop up.

Have been doing a bit of tinkering to get Ayew into the side and it is either straight swap of

    Albrighton to Ayew
    Smalling to 4mil cheapie
    (have .3 ITB)

    or

Zarate to Kone (already have Payet and 2 WH attackers maybe overkill?)
Mig to Myhill (Liverpool tough away fixtures upcoming & have Gomez already)
    Mahrez to Ayew

What are people's thoughts on this?

    Aguero Benteke Gomis

I am thinking my Ideal midfield atm is:
    Sanchez-Silva-Depay-Ayew-Mahrez

    Is it overkill?

I was looking at having Mahrez as my 4th Mid and Fletcher as a sub but I don't really want to sell Ayew even if I make a profit on him this week, I think he is a season keeper as is Mahrez, so should I go 3-5-2? Hmmmm...
