Laying a lawn in grass seeds- some bumps along the way!

    Hi folks I sowed a lawn in our garden last April/ may. Did not rotovate it as there was a mini digger on site and he scrapped away a lot of the old turf etc. however I have been plagued by weeds and bumps and dips and poor drainage that make it almost like an obstacle / mountain bike course! Is there a 'how to guide' out there for diy job! Was thinking of hiring a rotovator for a weekend and mulching/ aerating the lot again and raking through it all again then letting it sit for a few weeks before sowing the seeds. It seems you will always have bumps etch appear after rain. Would rolling it help? Thanks in advance!
