Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm just perusing the Heritage Week catalogue and thought this might be of interest as they do have records of people who worked on the railways.

Railway Library and Archives Open Day

Founded in 1946, the Society operates a Library and Archives dedicated to the study and operations of all aspects of railway history. Visitors can view our collections and small exhibits museum.

    Date: Saturday 29/08 11-1700
Venue: Irish Railway Record Society, Heuston station
    Free, no booking needed
    Email: info@irrs.ie

Secondly: Harriest Wheelock, the archivist of the Royal College of Physicians is doing a talk on their records on Wednesday 26/08 at 13:00 in 6 Kildare St. Booking is required for that one. I've heard her talk before and she really knows her stuff.

I notice Ms Santry has done a much more extensive list!

The Genealogical Society of Ireland is open all nine days of Heritage Week. Their premises are at Carlisle Pier (old mailboat pier), Dun Laoghaire.

Why Can’t I Find My Ancestors?: a talk at Cork County Library.
Cork County Library presents a talk Why Can’t I Find My Ancestors? on Wednesday 26th August at 1.30pm at Cork County Library Headquarters (beside the County Hall), Carrigrohane Road, Cork in conjunction with Heritage Week 2015. This talk will include specific examples from Cork parish registers, civil records and census returns. It will be of interest to individuals who have conducted some family history research but have hit the ‘genealogical brick wall.’
The event is free but booking is required. Contact reference.library@corkcoco.ie or 021-4546499
