Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Did Hyland play tonight?

No. He's going to be a pretty decent goalie imo. Probably needs a bit of time out at the moment though.

Disagree, he needs to play tonights game. That is a show of support from the manager, guess he didnt get it.

Maybe he'll be in Monday, dunno. To be fair, he's kept his place after one or two other mistakes this year. He's really come on this year overall after being pressed into the team from second keeper status and is going to be - is - a really decent keeper imo. My feeling is he'll be Nutsy's long-term keeper here and he's just letting him sit out the current (unwarranted) flak but sure we'll see.

Chap should get the chance to work out the last match.

Clarke for us got death threats after the 2012 FAI cup final.....seems to be over it.

For me, he's a young lad and his development this season has been superb from being a second keeper so he can be excused a few mistakes. Well younger than Murphy and a better attitude. You know what supporters in this league are like especially when a favourite is displaced. My feeling is he will be still well in the frame but I suppose wait and see.

Bohs were absolutely superb tonight. Much needed after the last few games. Neat passing, great movement off the ball into attacking positions. Could have easily been 4-5 goals for us.

Any update on the Galway player who went down for a good 10 minutes? Looked a bad one.

Could do with a few more starting on Monday. Huge game, wonder if either side will try to win it.

RTÉ must've had a word guessing Duff's starting spot. There's no rationale for a neutral to watch Rovers v Cork this season...it's a tough watch for the fans nevermind neutrals.

Defensive horror show for CCFC. All 3 goals were horrific mistakes.

The amount of unforced errors was astounding. Misplaced passes all round. Infuriating.

Healy was the worst player on the pitch. Spent the entire game flat with his centre halves not offering any outlet to attack. His defensive work was doubly poor as Limeruck identified him early and went down that flank with ease.

Fair play Limerick and all that but that result effectively ends our interest in the title and also opens up 3rd and 4th.

Oh. And Dunleavy. Fractured cheekbone. I'd swear I heard the impact from the DF. Lousy. 6-8 weeks out.

    Terrible night all round.

Monday vs Limerick is huge. Really need to take 3 points from it.

Just wondering, do people reckon the man Utd match had much of an effect? Tad below 700 in Finn Park. Given our stuttering form of late its average for the last few games, but it was a big match as regard the playoffs. No Donegal intercounty gaa to contend with and we had over 1000 for shels visit earlier in the year.
Probably double our previous biggest away support too... And the only ones to make noise so fair play shels.

Is he a flash in the pan (i've only heard of him via his euro exploits) or will he be doing the rounds of the Dublin clubs?
I can't see him being a flash in the pan. His control of the ball is excellent as is his finishing (as evidenced by him scoring 3 goals in Europe against international keepers with over 100 caps between them) and he'll only get better. 14 goals so far in his first full season (albeit 11 of them in division 1) is pretty impressive. Wouldn't be surprised if a few English clubs are sniffing around him either.

Drogs are in complete freefall after it looked as though Johnny McDonnell was starting to turn things around earlier in the season. Five losses and a draw in their last six games. Sean Thornton deserves better than this. Far too good for that rabble. Good to see Keith Ward making an impressive cameo last night for Sligo.

Killian Brennan and Morgan Langley out for Pats tomorrow evening against the champions. From reading reports it sounds like Brennan has been in flying form over the last month so he'll be a big loss for them. Amazing to think Pats will only be six points behind us if they win having been so far behind earlier on in the season (Was it up to eighteen points at one stage?) Crucial win for Dundalk in Derry on Friday and hopefully they can follow that up tomorrow evening and end any hope of a title challenge for Pats. Haven't played great at home in a couple of months. That needs to change tomorrow.

Expect a midfield of Bolger Chambers Forrester.

Brennan has been brilliant lately as has Chambers, so im not sure who is getting the 1st red cad. We keep 11 on the pitch and we have a chance, should be a decent game anyway.

I think Bolger will get the red card, but don't rule out whoever is playing centre back.

Hoare was on the bench on Friday. Bucko would hardly throw him in tomoro, would he? Browne was roasted the last time we played Dundalk but he is in much better form now.

Final table for the Wexford Youths' Women's CL group. The team bagged a 5-1 win over Cardiff Met in their final game, with Carol Breen scoring 4 goals. Great to exit on a high note for sure. Best team progressed without doubt however.

GUFC have 8 outfield players for tomorrow. We've 7 injuries and 2 suspensions. Some U19s are going to have to be thrown in.

It sucks that only the top team goes through, really no second chances. Great campaign none the less.

Am hearing that Bray are unlucky not to be ahead, but their penalty was one that shouldn't be given. I'll take it. Apparently playing very well though. The bottom is getting insanely tight!

    Ouch!

Rovers giving City a hammering. That's the league done and Dusted.

    Well done Dundalk.

Ah well, looks like it's coming down to the games between us, UCD and Harps to decide it so. Pity for us!

3-1 now. Fantastic 3 points! Only one behind Youths with a better goal difference. The two games against them in a few weeks are gonna be epic.

Tonight is as close to perfect as it could get for Bray in terms of results. There's some breathing space now for a few games at least, and still have all the teams below us to play, and are playing very well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,184 ✭✭✭✭Pighead

We are back! We absolutely destroyed Pats in that first half. Men against boys. It was probably our easiest half of football all year. Complete domination. Even their goal came from a ridiculous decision from the ref where he gave Pats a free and booked Gannon for an excellently timed challenge.

Second half Pats finally woke up and seen a lot more of the ball but they didn't do much with it and we cruised to victory and most probably sealed our eleventh league. Kenny was giving it loads of fist pumps at the end. He knew how important tonight was. Finn probably with his best game for us so far. O'Donnell back to his tenacious best, snapping at everybody's heals and not giving the Pats midfield a second. McMillan was very good as well. Think I saw him point into the Pats fans after his second saying 'That's for you dreamers." Four games in a row we've bet Pats now. That's why we're champions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

David Mc Millan scored 2 goals vs us tonight

Battered in the 1st half, 3 mistakes and we were punished each time. Have to question why Hoare who hasnt played in 6 weeks starts. Dundalk wouldnt let us have a 2nd on the ball.

Seen Jamie Mc Graths face after the match, scummy thing to do. Towell kicking him in the face when he was on the ground. And i think he was booked for the altercation with Forrester after it and not the kick in the face :/

    Nasty.

Just out of interest does anyone know roughly how much Rovers pay to SDCC for the use of Tallaght Stadium?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,694 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

Fantastic win, without Bennett it could've been more. I couldn't believe Caulfield took him off - he didn't look injured. O'Sullivan barely touched the ball.

Excellent stuff all over the pitch for Rovers. Handbrake taken off both starting elevens with Healy and Cregg on the bench.
