    What settings you using?

Using the high preset at native 1440p. Getting 140fps or thereabouts so far.

What GPU do you have? I've a 1060 at the minute but a 2080 ordered from Amazon.

Unfortunately I'm, already in. Am actually wondering could I perform a believable fit.
Still lesson learned for TLOU2, so it's not all bad.

  • I think the sales for this will be massive too. Capcom has recently been getting alot right after the mistakes made with RE6.

    Resident evil 7
    Monster Hunter world
    Megaman 11
    Now RE2 remake

Think they also have done an excellent job with promotion and utilizing social media platforms.

They have been supporting tonnes of streamers and Resident evil YouTube fan pages which has helped in spreading the hype.

Then factor the mega scores across the board.

Another piss into the face of EA and their "single player games are dead" bolox.

Turned it off last night at 2.30. Got the shotgun, saved the game and went and destroyed every zombie I could find until I ran out of ammo then went to bed. It's a fantastic game, the day is just going to drag until 5.30!

Probably won't get playing until Sunday. Busy tonight and too close to finishing the main questline in The Witcher 3 to switch to another game.

Probably not a good idea - zombie noises done incorrectly can sound like something else entirely :D

alrite was playing on hard for a while died restarted right back at the very beginning of the game :( of to bed now haha looks amazing. scared the crap out of me

I did the same thing. The very first zombie just ate my panicked shots and then my face. I'll admit most of them shots missed. I went to bed after that. Loved what I saw in the first 5 mins or so.

Saw one of the comments on a Youtube video which said EA must be going crazy looking at the RE2 reception after they put a bullet in the Dead Space franchise. Granted the sequels were poorly received (I thought they were great) but surely they could have wrung decent money from it, done right.

EA really didn't have their finger on the pulse regarding single player games.

Well, in fairness Dead Space was always mediocre Resi 4 and only popular as Capcom themselves were doing a great job of badly managing the Resident Evil IP themselves.

These things come in waves. Capcom is on the rise releasing quality and EA are struggling. During the time when Dead Space 1 and 2 were released it was the opposite.

Whatever the shareholders see is popular they will push and maybe EA will push some single player games now.

Is it steady? I had my Titan Xp overclocked and at 4K max settings (except texture size) I was getting a steady enough 50-60fps in gameplay but cutscenes suffered MASSIVE frame drops. So I turned it down to 1440p and same thing just not as bad. Overall pretty damn good for a PC port though.

Hopefully nVidia hurry up with the new drivers.

My 1070 was a bit chuggy in the demo maxed out at 1440p, won't be able to handle the ultra wide resolution I'd say. Hope the final game and new drivers means it runs better.

I'll just be pootering around at 1080 :pac:

No chopiness at all so far. Only played until the police station though so ill see if that changes after I get home from work.

You can put the fps limiter on in the options. That might be a better experience for you.

Wish I was too. Was forced to get a new TV at christmas which means I had to go 4K. Can't see much difference really. Would have preferred to hang onto my 980ti and 1080p for another while TBH.

Yeah I did that. It's mostly fine, just when it goes into close up in a cutscene or something then the frame rate just tanks to the 20fps's.

I can see you can buy the original soundtrack on the psn store for 3 euro. Each extra costume is 3 quid as well or you can buy the pack of costumes for 15. Must look up a video comparing soundtracks but the original might be tempting.

Great, I just want the original soundtrack and classic skins for a future replay.

While places like Reddit may prove me wrong I think that type of micro transaction may be generally well received.

I started as Claire earlier and now I'm wondering if perhaps that might make the B run harder. Really need to start concentrating on work!

well they are not perishable like most microtransactions are. If you buy the soundtrack it will stay there going forward, not perish after 1 playthrough.

Why would it make it harder?

I am just waiting to see my probably over 1000euro worth of games on Steam just disappear one day. I doubt I will be reimbursed for it which sucks but thems the brakes.

the old RE2 Claire was easier, I think she had more storage slots and better weapons, it may have been marginal. Generally the girl character had it easier. I started RE1 a while ago and took Jill without a thought.

I also heard scenario B was generally more difficult.

No thats only RE1, RE2 they have the same slots, they got different weapons, both had their strengths, heck id even say Leon ends up with the better weapons.

But yeah i wouldnt be worrying too much about character choices in terms of difficulty for this one.

Unless of course they made a load of changes in this remake, but i doubt they did in this day and age, the feminazi's would have a field day :pac:

Leon got a lighter while she got a lockpick as I recall. Not sure if there was any difference in health. They had the same number of item slots though.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Your thinking of RE1 with the lighter and lockpick. Leon wasn't in RE1.

Neither was Clare. But Claire in RE2 had a lockpick as a special item whereas Leon had a lighter.

Do you remember the fireplace you had to light to get a gem? Leon had the lighter from the start. Claire had to find one. I think it was in one of the evidence lockers.
