So would one Include the government in that lying ?

Have the government said 800,000 have flat out refused to pay, or have they said 800,000 will pay but have not got around to it yet?

Billy, why do you continue to deny that the majority aren't engaging with IW?
Your first bill is well past it's due date, indeed, reminders have been sent, text messages, phone calls etc etc
Why Billy, aren't you engaging with IW?
Why Billy, haven't you paid your bill.
It's not on, just not on at all.
It just not that easy for me, since I live in Toronto.

You've heard of internet banking I presume?
You can set up a DD online.
You can make a once off payment online, takes 2 minutes.

You are liable for the bill, aren't you?

The first bill is past due now as per IW's 'terms and conditions'.
Didn't you get the reminder letter?
your figures are from July 15th, so any discussion of numbers beyond that date is pointless.

Eh, he could own a property here and live here some of the time.
His family could still be living here while he works abroad.

There's plenty of reasons why someone living abroad could be classed as the liable person.

I dont think he's blogging the water threads of boards.us either, telling the yanks they should be paying a bill he doesn't have to pay himself!

    Now that would be stupidity!

So explain why you were under the impression that somebody living in Toronto would have to pay Irish Water charges.

Yeah, because it's not like I am from Ireland or have lived in Ireland for the vast majority of my life. I guess when I got on the plane here in January, I should forgotten Ireland exists. That makes perfect sense.

    See post 940.
Are you claiming that anyone living abroad wouldn't be the liable person now?
    It's getting better, I tell ya that.:pac:

How does the bill affect where one is ?

How does the bill affect where one is ?

    It's getting crazy now.

For instance, say one had to move abroad for work for a period of time, and one's family remained behind, as has happened with at least 3 people I know.
The liable person/household would still be the liable person/household.

Anyway, I'll be back in a bit, enough light entertainment for the moment.

Well I don't own a house in Ireland - you should be asking that before jumping to conclusions, which is something you have repeatedly shown prone to do.

And how would I be liable for someone else`s bill, like a family members? to say you are clutching at straws here would be putting it mildly.

So, you don't own a house in Ireland.
You aren't liable for a water bill.
You live in Canada, so presumably you work and pay taxes there too.
And you're coming on here berating people who don't agree with this charge, the quango and the billions of our money being poured into it?

TBH, it's none of your business, it doesn't affect you.

He can post all he likes, I never said otherwise.
Maybe you can show me where I did?
Doesn't bother me in the slightest who does or doesn't post here.
His views are irrelevant to me now though and I won't be engaging further with him.

Oh yea, ignore the rest of my post there...

If it is none of my business what goes on in Ireland, then why do I have the right to vote there?

Your argument just gets weaker and weaker. To be honest, its not really even an argument anymore.
