Disc brakes in Triathlons?

    Looking to upgrade my bike and some new bikes have disc brakes. Is it ok to use these in Tri's? Cheers.

    No reason why not.

    You will need to stop at the dismount line ;)

    Very exposed callipers and I wonder the effect of the disc with holes in it skinning at a couple of hundred rpm.

    I checked with Triathlon Ireland and they are not allowed. Pity.

    It's strange as I have seen all sorts of bikes at tris including mountain bikes and discs breaks are now UCI legal although ITU allow bikes which are not ITU legal (P5 for example).
