I think Sinclair will be in the Villa team ahead of Ayew but other than that it's probably spot on.

  • hmmm 7/10 zerks
Docked points for the really wide gif

    Result shall be 2-1 utd
    Depay to score first

The West Midlands Police will be occupied with an EDL march in nearby Walsall on Saturday and Sunday is too close to ManU in the Champs Lge.

Friday was the most agreeable alternative.

English Defence March in Birmingham on saturday at 1' 0 clock

It's also a precursor to next year when I think there are 10 games to be played on a Friday night. I am actually looking forward to it

A handy 2-0 win for United with Rooney to get on the scoresheet.

    Emphatic away win.

Simply going to copy n paste this from the previous match thread!

Dour scoreless draw. Utd to have ~70% of possession but do nothing with it. Rooney continues he lacklustre pre-season form with no first touch and little impact.

SpursVilla to look the more inventive but with a few new players lack the cohesion to get the breakthrough.

Van Gaal will then put Felani on to try to ram it home. Then give a press conference after the game saying the process is working and he is happy with how we played.

Utd fans will blame the ref

Scrappy 1-1 draw I think unless LVG plays Depay out wide and Rooney finds his scoring boots.

Haha, I'm bound to be right eventually. I've got 37 more chances!

In my defense, I hadn't taken into account that Utd would be gifted an own goal which negated the need to try to ram it home towards the end.

I'll repeat the bet re: Fellaini from last week?

Still you are missing very important bit about Fellaini.

What am I missing? Is he injured/suspended?

Either way, my overall point stands. It will be another dour display from Utd, don't be expecting anything exciting to watch. LVG doesn't set up his teams that way and Utd do not have the speed players at the front to make it happen anyway.

Mata is slow, Rooney is fast enough but a poor first touch and he seems to be in another one of his slumps in form. Yound just hasn't got the skill level and Depay, well its too early to make any call on him.

If I had to bet, I would go with a Utd win but only because I don't think Villa will have enough to score and Utd may get another lucky break.

Suspended for the first 3 games.

    Wasnt a score draw.
    Fellaini is STILL suspended.
Van Gaal didnt say Utd played well.
Utd fans didnt blame the ref.

    United should win.

The Friday night Kick off should be beneficial to their next Champions League Qualifier against Brugge.

English Midfield march the week after

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Villa always roll over for utd like a puppy wanting to be tickled, and I don't expect much different tonight.

    0-2.

United have a very good record at Villa park but I just have a sneaky feeling there could be an upset on the cards. Lots of new players at Villa so there is the wildcard factor and united have a big question mark over them about their dire away form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,080 ✭✭✭✭Maximus Alexander

    I'll have a crack at a prediction.

United to control possession but continue to look weak going forward. Will do just enough at the front to get one goal.

There will be a couple of heart in mouth moments when Villa break through, and they may or may not pull one back due to a goalkeeping or defensive error.

Match finishes 0-1 or 1-1 with United never really looking like scoring a second goal.

    2-2.

Heart says: score draw where Villa come really close to a surprise win
Head says: Utd not firing on all cylinders still win by 1 or 2 goals
Dream says: Adama Traore subbed on at half time and scores a hattrick for a Villa win.

Looking forward to the Schmidfield bossing things tonight

That's what you'd think would make sense so that's probably not what will happen. I'd say Mata right and Januzaj centre.

Sky are saying Januzaj behind Rooney.

 Why would you not play Mata in the middle? He's wasted out wide.

Whilst it's good that Depay is playing on the left instead of the middle, bit harsh to drop Young since he's probably been our best performing player under LVG

That little smile from Louis when he said Januzaj will play in his favourite position, #10.

Januzaj confirmed as playing central anyway

Gestede vs Blind would have been interesting. Hopefully he gets on at half time.

Good bit of awkward TV there the lads talking about Gestedes amazing weapon. Lol

Interesting fact - Rooney has never scored at Villa park.

I've captained him in fantasy however. I Predict another dull boring performance from united who will probably end up win 1 or 2 nil.

I don't understand how it's possible to have one of the most expensive team ever and play some of the Worst football ever, I for one shall not be watching this match Anyway.
