Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Brilliant goal.

Messi has been class for these last 15 minutes. Deserves that goal.

    That was inevitable.

    Barca will win

Brutal!!!! Brutal they said! He's been the pick of the players tonight, and when Barcelona threaten to falter and fall, he creates an opportunity and he scores it. Its 500 not out, it's Lionel Messi!

    Alba has no brain.

Square ball rather than a cut back and that was a tap in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Messi's ability to create is unmatched, his teammates are letting him down right now.

FIFA really need to look at bringing in a stop the clock when play has stopped for 10 or more seconds rule.

That said, it actually heightens the spectacle on occasion (if you're biased):)

This has been some choke job.

    Neymar.

    Classless as ever.

The direct opposite of Messi who made sure to shake hands with the Valencia players around him.

What in the name of God was Neymar at there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Hitchhikers guide to galaxy clearly wasn't ready by any Barca player.

    DON'T PANIC.

They did just that and somehow lost a game that they could have won by several goals. Amazing!

Delicious too. There's a league back on!
(Can't see Barca squandering it tho.)

This is gonna be some run in for the title. Barca look knackered to me, too many games for too few players.

For a while I thought he had matured as a player but in the last few games he seems to have gone back to his brainless wasteful self.

When he is good he is very very good but when he is bad he is horrid.

Except for the successful take-ons and array of passes he's played in behind Valencia's defence.

Hits stats may have seen a slight increase, but Lionel Messi has been the invisible man when Barca have needed him most of all. Crashing out of Europe, potentially throwing away the league title, questions must and will be asked.

Players around him let them down tonight, Messi was trying and played pretty well considering.

What in the name of God was Neymar at there?

He didn't like Valencia celebrating. How dare they.

The lad was the worst culprit tonight in terms if his team's choke job too. Trying to beat players needlessly. Falling around for no reason. Not shooting straight. Moaning endlessly.

Messi was mesmeric that 2nd half. How he was on the losing team, I don't know. His teammates should be ashamed of themselves.

The difference between Ronaldo and Messi, Real needed 3 goals Ronaldo got them. Barca needed 3 goals against a much weaker team going by league position and Messi got 1 and pretty much walked around through the game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,561 ✭✭✭✭CSF

All jokes aside, it's not logical to round on Messi every time Barca do not win.

Isnt it ironic the players celebrating are those same Valencia players who didn't try a leg under Neville, they were a bloody disgrace.

An incredible performance of fight & resilience from a Valencia team revitalized under Pako Ayestarán. To go the Camp Nou & beat a team full of superstars after the shambles Neville let them in was a monumental effort. They are a credit to themselves & to La Liga. Mustafi was the glue that held everything together. He might be the greatest defender of the modern era.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,456 ✭✭✭astonaidan

For everyone having a quick kick at Neville this team has already drawn with Barca, granted he was in the stands that night, just remembering the 7-0 is real selective memory

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

Mustafi was everything Neymar was not tonight!

Neymar did a great impression of a pub player, he was awful

Preposterous scoreline, but not down to 'tiredness' or defence, simply gilt edged chances not taken and a woeful Neymar.

Just had a look at the fixtures and would be super surprised if Barca or Madrid drop points, Atletico have Bilbao and Celta so dont see them going undefeated

Didn't catch the full game but Valencia squandered numerous chances in the second half as well.

Can you see Barca going undefeated all things considered?

The last time Barcelona lost three league games in a row was under Louis van Gaal in 2002-03.

    From the granuiad.
