Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He reminds me of a former poster, one that lived in Barcelona itself. His 'dislike' was quite strong too. Probably the same person given that they too post in the Chelsea thread as well.

    Cheeky Monkey ;)

Not winning the treble is a failure? Then every team is a failure this season. A blip and then 5 magnificent performances to clinch the league. 6 league titles out of 8, Alves the Brazilian with the most trophies ever won, Iniesta the Spaniard with the most trophies ever won. Suarez the golden boot winner, Luis Enrique only the 2nd Spanish coach to win back to back Ligas in his first season at Barcelona, Barcelona the most successful club in this century and the most revered team across the globe. Hollow? It's glorious, the most glorious era football has ever seen, in 50, 60, 70, 100 years time the kids will be able to rattle off the names of this Barcelona XI. Bravo, Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba, Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta, Messi, Suarez, Neymar; legends, every single one of them.

I'm sorry but I think this year that honour belongs to Claudio Ranieri and Leicester City.

Moreno dropped by Sevilla for the Copa Del Rey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,561 ✭✭✭✭CSF

You get the feeling that Sevilla have the beatings of the Barca defence here. That only leaves Messi, Suarez and Neymar to deal with.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,561 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Jesus Coke you do not get away with missing those against Barca!!!

Red card! Red card! Macherano takes out Gamiero and gets a red card. Barca down to ten.

    Mascherano sent off. Oops!

Disgraceful decision definite evidence of a conspiracy against Barcelona.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,561 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Smart from Mascherano to avoid giving away a penalty. Definite red in any case. Anyone's game now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

I only dislike Barca because of 3 of their players, now only 2 are on the pitch. Cheerio Mash now CMON SEVILLA

Sevilla had been doing very well prior to the red card. Hopefully they win it from here.

Good first half. Definite red card; makes things a bit more interesting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Poor from Mascherano, he's an experienced players and should be dealing with Gameiro's movement better than he did. Enrique's ploy of playing 3 at the back had largely nullified the threat of the Sevilla counter attack but to be caught from a goalkick as they were is ridiculous.

Enrique has now moved Alves further back and Busquets to the left centre back area. Sevilla have been encouraged to press in midfield and Barcelona are trying to bypass this by finding longer passes to Suarez, Messi and Neymar.

Messi has made some very bright runs but no breakthrough yet. This will have to be a massive performance to win from here against a very talented Sevilla side.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Tactical moves being made by Enrique tonight, you'd think Rakitic, with his box to box energy, is exactly the player you'd want when down to 10 men but he's gone and Mathieu is in, freeing up Busquets.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Pique playing the familiar role of 1 man defence and blaugrana superhero.

This referee clearly owns no yellow cards.

    Dirty from Suarez.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

Brain dead stuff from Suarez with his team already down to 10.

Lucky he didn't see Suarez there or he'd be reaching for the red card again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Suarez injured now. Disaster for Barca.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,561 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Situations like this are whhy Barca need to have that extra attacking option on the bench.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Suarez gone, Messi has quite the bump.on his head, players dropping like flies, couldn't be worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Messi should be subbed. There's been a clear hard impact on his head.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

Possibly not the worst thing to happen to Barca here. They were struggling in midfield with 3 forwards on the field down to 10. They should have more control now.

If you believe reports that extra option is wearing white tonight.

Banega? Gameiro? Konoplyanka would be my option for any team who could sign someone from Sevilla.

This is a night for Neymar to step up.

Still no yellow cards for tactical fouls.

    Not a yellow that foul.

    Neymar was onside too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

No matter the score or whatever happens in the next 30 minutes, this has been a beastly performance by Pique, absolutely masterful at the heart of the Barcelona defence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,718 ✭✭✭upandcumming

Great block there. Sevilla on top!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,561 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I'd be fairly nervous about spending alot of money on Gameiro. Chap is 29 and has only really found his starring role in this Sevilla team this season. Players like Konoplyanka or Nolito would be much more sensible signings.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Busquets now with the heroics. I love the character of this team.
