Just seen the Messi goal there. You just have to smile. Trademark Messi goal.

    Edit: Ahhhhhh Neymar brilliant

Oh wow! Another genius goal! This is another one for the highlight reel! Messi to Neymar and that lob is eerily accurate. Stunning goal, exceptional performance.

Wonderful 45 minutes. Could be a really strong close to the finish for Barcelona.

Looks like there's a weight off their shoulders. They look effortlessly brilliant tonight.

I woudln't bet too heavily against them turning it around against PSG. On their day Barca are more than capable of demolishing even other top European teams and if this is anything to go on they might be getting their **** back together at the right time.

    Both goals were incredible quality.

Definitely a lot more fire under the team it looks like than recent home games.

Rakitic is a huge boost to the midfield ,its no coincidence that results have improved since he has returned to the side.

I honestly dont know what Enrique was thinking preferring that waster Gomes to Rakitic.

At least todays results won't lend themselves to a certain ridiculous "debate" !

Conspiracy. Rakitic was 2 weeks offside there. :pac:

3 genius goals! Tiki taka returns to the Camp Nou! A goal that could only be scored at the Camp Nou, a Blaugrana goal. 3-0

    Sublime and effortless.

It's 4! It's Messi! It's Umtiti! The best football performance of the season, nothing comes close to Barcelona on song.

Rakitic was offside for the third, wasn't he?

Peerless, hes dragged Barca into contention for the league for the passed few weeks. If they win the league this year it will be his greatest title IMO.

They rise and applaud Neymar. Whisper it quietly but he's having his best season at the club.

    No he is not.

By scoring a third as many goals as last season? By scoring a quarter of the goals of the season before that?

Most of what I've seen of him has been him being anonymous while Suarez and Messi in particular carry the attack.

    Brilliant today, of course.

Eh, no. 2014/15. Also the season which took him to the new level.

If Barca were more rurhless around the box instead of trying setup Suarez theyed have another few here.

Perhaps a slight glimmer of hope ahead of the CL match.

Best performance of the season. Messi is at a level that I don't think has ever been seen before in this sport, he's so special and his bandmates were playing the right tune tonight. Barça are back in the title chase.

Bet365 have Barca 10/1 to qualify.
If you are so convinced they will over turn it, you might as well make some money of it.

It is not that that 4-0 happened because Barca had 3 men sent off after 10 minutes. They were played off the pitch.
ill stick a tenner on them so ...

I ll just take the usual 25% commission

Sometimes being crazy has it's merits! Imagine only backing such an outcome becaue you are demented (or feign being demented ) by a rival team!

By the way, I said on this thread only a short while ago that Neymar is having his best season at Barcelona. The stats don't reflect it but for those who watch him every week you've seen him turn into both a truly elite player and a player that Barcelona turn to. Despite his higher goal totals in previous seasons, it's only this season that he's become one of the 3 most important players in this team. He's undoubtedly the next king of the Camp Nou.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

It's not about his stats, in the first half of the season he wasn't at his best. In recent weeks, he's been playing better but he had a slow start which went on for a while.

I didn't see the game last night but if it was anything like his performance against Celta then I can imagine he's back to his best. He's unstoppable when he's on form but its taken him a while to get going this season.

He definitely isn't having his best season. Even ignoring stats, which are more essential than a lot of other aspects when you are talking about an elite forward in an elite team.
You are probably in a very minority to say that. Any leading journalist or Barca fan would disagree.

Also, "a player that they turn to? " Barca have needed many last ditch goals and scraped a fair few games that they should, squad wise be relatively to easily comfortable...........ie, they have needed more goals. neymar is a striker, 10 goals up until last night all this season for a Barca striker, "who they turn to"..........has there been a worse return for a starting Barca forward in recent seasons?

That jink and pass though. It was the equivalent of a quarter back precision play except under indescribable pressure.. He had made the decision where to put it, even before he feigned to cross initially. Sublime stuff.

Back to standard Barca again !!!!!!!

Apart from ****ting their pants at the start of the second half, Depor have been playing very well, Bruno Gama in particular is having a great game.

Ter Stegen has looked a bit shaky today.

He must be still awful shook up after that awful "foul" that brought him down to earn the freekick that led to the winner midweek! :D

    2-1 Depor.

Goal Barça! Goal Suarez! The comeback is on!!

GOAL DEPORTIVO! GOAL BERGANTINOS! The corner is whipped in and Alex Bergantinos is in the right place at the right time, planting his header straight into the bottom right corner. He makes it 2:1.

    Messi had his chance there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

Brilliant performance by Depor. Well worth the victory. They pressed the hell out of Barca today and took their chances, though should have had a third at the end.

Barca were nowhere near good enough. Messi had a poor game, his free kick at the end summed up his performance.

That performance shows you just how much of a cowardly, amateur like, disgraceful display PSG gave their fans midweek

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Well that's a shame. Tough to see Barcelona winning the league now. On one hand it's understandable there'd be such a drop in performance given the emotion and adrenaline of Wednesday night, but equally the current setup really does not favour Messi at all who literally has no space to operate in. The impact of Messi's decrease in space isn't felt as harshly with Neymar in the side but he wasn't here today and our best player had 4/5 players around him whenever he got the ball. Also the squad players really needed to step up today and didn't, the question marks around many members of this squad remain. I will say that the corner Depor scored from to win it wasn't a corner and I don't know how a handball wasn't given late on against Depor but I wouldn't want to talk too much about referees.

Why the hell has he gone back to putting Messi in the middle when he figured out about 2 years ago that it doesn't work and teams have found a way to smother him there. Back to being as ineffective as he was for Suarez's first few months there.

Messi has had a brilliant season??? Not sure what you are getting at here!

Both those decisions should have gone the other way but they were difficult calls for the ref as opposed to more conspiracy theory evidence.

Suárez should have scored late on.
