That second goal Atletic Bilbao conceded yesterday was absolutely shocking .
After getting back into the game they conceded a goal that you wouldn't see at an under 10's match .

Goal! Suarez! Genius throw in by Neymar. 1-1

    fantastic finish

Good move by Valencia to make it 2-2. Hopefully more goals to come!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Goal! Suarez turns Mangala, the Frenchman so confused ended up grasping at anything he could get a hold of. Red card, 2-1.

    2-2

Checking updates while on the train, sounds like a nuts match.

2-2 and Valencia are down to ten.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Neymar is the best he's ever been.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 301 ✭✭Albert_Camus

Some great passages of play from Barca and Messi gets the goal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Goal! It's Messi, it's akways Messi! The greatest of all time does it when the team needs it. 3-2

This formation is crazy at the moment.

Valencia are still in this, purely because of Barca's setup here. It's asking for trouble any time there's a turnover.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

I know this isn't news, but Messi is ridiculous.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,694 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

I just don't see it in Rafinha. He should've come off instead of Rakitic.

Tactical yellow from Messi. Misses the Granada game.

    Neymar. Genius.

Coming into his own at the perfect time of the season.

thatpass couldn't have been any better. but breadandbutter for Neymar

Neymar too hot to handle, storms down the left again and Gomes gets a nice side foot finished goal. Hopefully that helps Gomes in his Barça career. Messi and Neymar today magnificent, Suarez at his menacing best. 4-2

Would you cheer on Roger Federer with will zest and enthusiasm if he was playing a dead body ??

Would it be 6-0 6-0 5-0 (40-0) and you would be excitingly commentating on
this amazing match ???? - can he pull it off folks !! ?? CAN HE PULL IT OFF ???

Don't think Valencia are a dead body though and they certainly didn't play like one.

Conceding at home against 10 men though....

If that happens when 6-0 up... meh.
Shouldnt happen when just gone 2-1 up and minutes before HT

Real shouldnt give this away anymore.

Bayern for the CL i reckon.

Barca to vulnerable in defence. Real cant win it because the CL doesnt get won 2 years in a row and Bayern has Muller back at his best.

Leaves the Copa del Rey for Barca.

Well I was watching a match so tough to comment too much during that and now Man Utd Boards are in the mix too.

In time you will get the response you seek.

No response from you regarding these questions...to be honest I'm not really surprised. I guess you were hoping you could just bury your head in the sand and people would forget about it.

Also no one here was looking for an essay off you. Just a simple answer to the question, in your opinion did the decisions the Ref made in the Barcelona PSG game benefit Barca and play a factor in them winning the tie?

I know this is the La Liga thread and Im going back to a Champions League game, but this thread is constantly getting bombarded with ridiculous conspiracy theories by Andersonisgod about refs favouring Real Madrid, yet when a refs decisions favour Barcelona its completely ignored by him. A bit of consistency would be nice!

Oh dont you worry, I've been working night and day on a response that to all of the questions asked and it's a response that should satisfy the questions asked.

What does this BS even mean? A simple Yes or No is all we need from you. You're stalling now on having to answer the question because you know the ref did help Barca that night but you dont want to admit it. It's actually embarrassing and shows you up to be naive, biased and petty.

Anyone who watches football regularly and has even a small bit of common sense knows there's no big conspiracies. They no that all the La Liga ref's aren't in Real Madrid's pocket. They know that Barcelona aren't constantly being victimised. They know that every club gets wrong decisions for and against them. They know that usually decisions will even themselves out over the course of a season.

Messi starts scoring a few free kicks all of a sudden Ronaldo starts racking them up. How can anyone get bored off these two

Racking them up? Ronaldo is rubbish at free's. It's law of average stuff, smack enough and one is bound to go in sometime

In the context of good free-takers, he's very poor imo

    What a nonsense statement.

His return on free kick attempts is awful, to be fair.

Class player, poor free kick taker.

That is because he is far too ambitious and far too confident . It doesn't make him a bad free kick taker. His stats are very bad but he has devised a technique that can be devastating and has been. Name some top players out there that would be able to better such stats if they were taking the same quantity. If there were such players, they also would be taking every free kick for their club and racking up goals every season from them.

I admit Bale should be taking most of them for Real now. Even James Rodriguez should be given a share. But these are both excellent free kick takers themselves also. Ronaldo's tendon issues post 2014 are the reason he has suffered poor stats since.

so yeah, his stats are bad and it is a well known fact he is never the same as he was 5 years ago but to say he is a rubbish free kick taker is silly. He is still someone a defence would fear if he put the ball down in front of them 25 yards out.

Maybe what "rubbish" means to me means different to you!

I didn't say he was rubbish. I do think he's a poor free kick taker though; both his decision-making and effectiveness.

As you say, no way he should be taking them for Real Madrid anymore. Bale is far more dangerous.

He is still someone a defence would fear if he put the ball down in front of them 25 yards out.

Since Ronaldo made his tournament bow at Euro 2004, the Real Madrid superstar has played in 33 games for Portugal at World Cups and European Championships.
Out of 34 free kicks he has scored none.
Worryingly, only eight have even hit the target.
Of the remainder, 13 have been blocked and 13 have missed the target.

In recent years he went 56 free kicks without scoring for Real Madrid and only scored 2 in 88.
His stats are very bad but he has devised a technique that can be devastating and has been

He scored alot more free kicks before he switched to the unreliable knuckleball method.
Sure its spectacular when it goes in but like another mythical free kick specialist Roberto Carlos most of the time the ball goes into the wall or row Z.

He'd score alot more free kicks if he went back to an orthodox method.

I dont know if Bale is more effective. More that Bale wont shoot them from 40 yards every time. I do agree hes not a great free kick taker but wouldnt say poor

Then maybe he should put aside his ego and stop shooting from ridiculous angles and distances and instead put the team first? Decision-making is apart of free kick taking, and his decision making at set pieces is woeful.

I am not defending his decision making............... that is part and parcel of his ego, his personality and Madrid clearly entertain same, for better or worse.

Let us not turn this into an anti/pro Ronaldo nonsense. I am neutral in such respect, I was just highlighting how stupid or hyperbole a comment that he is rubbish at free kicks is.

Anyway, thought you were working on your conspiracy reply! ;):D

He is rubbish, in the context of professional footballers who are supposedly top free takers. Surely that context is a given?

When hes in the red zone hes as dangerous as any. His problem is the 40 meter frees.

He was cautioned for a foul by the assistant ref and I think it was something like " you are just like the fking La Liga refs or the tax authorities always fking conspiringme and against my team wanting us to lose. Why can't you be more like a Champion League ref and give me a break you pr*ck"

He may also have said "fk off home, your mother's c♤nt"

I reckon he will probably quit in a huff now again.
