Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Shocking, bloody shocking. This performance has been aimless, the defending shambolic.

    Messi-esque from Aguero though?

Chelsea very lucky not to 4-0 down

That's a fantastic goal, would expect a couple more the way Chelsea are defending.

He did well but this really is a poor performance, not only poorly executed but I really can't see what the aim is here with this setup.

Just noticed a City fan walk down the steps to a seat near the #CFC dugout ... he's got a white coat on & a stethoscope around his neck

city need to get another , chelsea are capable of grinding their way back into this. Kompany on a yellow, needs to keep his cool with costa

That should have been another goal from the Mangler. We should be over the horizon by now.

City should have this game done and dusted. But they haven't.

Chelsea showing signs of Mourinho's usual cycle. Early days yet, but their season start has a feeling of deja vu about it. Their organisation is in one word: sh1t.

City picking up silly bookings and profligacy could end up costing them.

Costa ready to explode. Fantastic player, but an extremely short fuse.

Diego Costa is great entertainment.... In all the wrong ways.

Costa not living up to his old head on young shoulders, he has lost it!

Haha 2 games in and league challenge over

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

All in all it's been a woeful performance from Chelsea. Mourinho has tried to play open and expansive football against City and the team just aren't equipped for it. This really is a team that, in big games, can only shut up shop, this side has no other options, no versatility.

I would say though that if you take this as the biggest game in the English league (based on current quality, not historically) it's been not been impressive. Both sides look weak without the ball, neither have the attacking firepower of the really great teams. It's an interesting game between two very good sides but these are not elite teams.

You don't have to crock or level Costa. Just get him involved in little niggling contests and he's too busy being preoccupied by tit-for-tats to remember where the goal is.
