Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Are you kidding? Sterling has created havoc in that first half with his movement. The amount of times he has dragged defenders out of positions into the middle or drifted to the other side leaving Kolorov with all the space in the world. It caused Chelsea all sorts of problems in the first 20. His movement off the ball is one of the things that makes him so special as you just don't see that intelligence for players his age. It creates huge amount of space for the players around him. Anyone who can't see the difference he has made to the City attack doesn't know wtf they are taking about.

I think it's one of those "joke" things you may have heard about.

Pretty sh*ty and illogical joke though. Wouldn't mind of there was some merit to it.

Oscar should come on for Fabregas at the break.

Mangala has been rock solid today again. Good signs.

Even Sterling has joked about it

As a neutral, the game couldn't have gone much better. Chelsea can't sit out a 0-0 again (they may still begrudgingly have to get a win or sit out a 1-1 now) and then the physios circus..elbowing Diego Costa may also give bonus liveliness..

    Far from over though.

All in all it's been a woeful performance from Chelsea. Mourinho has tried to play open and expansive football against City and the team just aren't equipped for it. This really is a team that, in big games, can only shut up shop, this side has no other options, no versatility.

I would say though that if you take this as the biggest game in the English league (based on current quality, not historically) it's been not been impressive. Both sides look weak without the ball, neither have the attacking firepower of the really great teams. It's an interesting game between two very good sides but these are not elite teams.

They sure have a better defence than Barcelona :pac:
    (at the moment anyway)

I'm sure Sterling thinks it's a big joke alright. I'd say he's sick to death of the constant idiotic jabs from social media

    It's a really stupid joke.

Costa is unable to get as good as he gives. Quite pathetic really.

I really don't want to talk about that, all I'll say is that I would rate all of the elite teams, Barcelona included, higher than both of these teams out of possession.

Lucky to be only 1 down, need far far more quality on the ball. Every counter attack is killing us too.

    Why now?

After his first stint at the club and a full season why would he order him now

I call bs on this one.

Costa is bulling. Tell Falcao to start warming up.

He loves playing against Chelsea (he had Costa in his back pocket in the corresponding game last season as well).

It's against everyone else that the problems begin!
    ;)

It's impossible to say but certainly something is off about this whole start to the season and I don't think that is purely down to the extended pre season break.

Possibly but Jose, like Rafa, does try to get his team to adapt to more open football. The idea being that they'll be able to execute counters more effectively. Control possession for short periods and take sting out of games while giving their backlines a rest. The season he won the league with Madrid they were basically bombaring the oppositions boxes until fatigue took its toll.

Chelsea clawing their own way back into this. City need some proactive changes asap.

    Second goal is imminent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Something tells me that by Jose taking Terry off, he might see it as a ploy for Roman to front up more cash for John Stones this week citing that, "the defence needs reinforcements" or some BS.
