Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Qualifax is most definitely wrong it seems. You can view all points for all courses for the last 17 years on the cao site cao.ie/?page=points

I wonder what the chances of the CAO website crashing at about 6am are? Something tells me it will considering thousands will be logging on at once. The thoughts of having to wait for an extra hour or something... ugh

I stayed up all night, 3 years ago when my brother was getting his CAO results because he was in a place without internet. I went on at exactly 6am and the bloody thing had already crashed

I'd say the site is going to be down for a good while. I was using it at about half 3 or four o clock the day the deadline closed, it was cat. Tomorrow will be worse

Out scouting to see if anyone has the paper, but it seems very early. My dad's taking me out but we'll see how it goes. Chances are it's far too early though

  • Registered Users Posts: 132 ✭✭kcera

Can we request to get an email about our offer?

Way too early I'd say. Early morning (2/3/4) is your best chance.

That's what I was thinking. If I don't get it now, which I probably wont, hopefully I'll find a way to get it a bit later on.

There's literally 3 dates a year where they're placed under any stress, if they can handle 5,000 requests at a time then they're fast enough for 99% of the time, it would be totally ridiculous to run servers to handle 30,000+ request's for the CAO.

    uhm what's "the paper" ?

Irish Times has a supplement with every course and its points

Nope, but you can get them to send you a text. Just log in to your application, click on change personal details and select yes when they ask if you want to get sms updates from the CAO, just under where they ask you to enter your mobile number. I just did it there, I have work in the morning and I don't want to wait up until 6!

I know everyone is saying the IT publishes the points as a supplement, I think the Independent do the CAO aswell, is that also a supplement or could it be sourced online at 2 ?

For anyone that doesn't want to wait up until 6am, I'm not sure if this is already mentioned but download the Irish times app and buy a copy of tomorrow's paper. It will be available at 3am! Oh also it's €2.99.

Or if anyone's parents have a subscription to the Irish times on their mobile/iPad etc, screenshot all the offers and post it in the thread for the rest of us to enjoy :)

I don't think that they're allowed post it online until after 6am. It hasn't been on the website before that in previous years so I doubt it'll change this year

Papers aren't coming into shops until 3 or 4, been told in three different locations, anything before that's probably hocum, if this eases anyones nerves

Edit: this is in Dublin though, May be different across the country

See my post here. They usually don't have the full supplement online until the offers are out.
