    Hi,

I'm looking for an AV receiver for up to 400, it should have auto EQ (reading online Pioneer/Yamaha seem to be leading in the auto EQ area) and preferrably full pre out. 5.1 is more than enough as I've only stereo speakers.

Any ideas what would suit? I was looking at the Pioneer VSX-924 but it is not easy to find. Or Yamaha RX-V379 / 377/477

    Cheers,

Hi Mathiash,  I can get the RXV377 for you no problem http://www.richersounds.ie/p-200458-rxv377.aspx . The 477 is currently out of stock, I do have a display one I could sell to you if that would help you out

    Regards Stephen

    Hi Stephen

How much for the 477, are there any scratches/any damage?

    Regards
    Mathias

    Mathias,

just a query - I note that you are only running stereo speakers - do you intend using the AV Amp as a 5.1 receiver as if you are only going to run stereo speakers you will buy a far better stereo amp for your money which will strip out some of the features you wont use if stereo audio quality is your main target.

Keep us posted so we can best recommend,

    Hey John,

I've only got stereo at the moment but might switch to surround sometime in the future.

For now the video switching and auto eq are the main features I'm looking after.

    Cheers,

    Mathias,

apologies for the delay getting back to you - the Pioneer VSX924 is now completely finished and has been replaced by the shiny new VSX930 ( which we have just reduced to €599.00!!):
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201415-vsx930.aspx

The VSX930 is a well featured AVR and it sounds great but it doesn't have 5.1 pre-outputs.

On the Yamaha RXV377 we do have available stock at just €269 on that model but again it doesn't have pre-outs:
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200458-rxv377.aspx

You will have to go to something like the Yamaha RXA840 to get a full set of pre-outs:
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200827-rxa840.aspx

Stunning amp and if you have a look on our Boards clearance thread from last Friday http://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057476767 you will see a couple of them lurking at great Boardie clearance pricing..

Thanks again and keep us posted if we can assist,

    ATVB,
