Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would love to see Mir win this one. Never been the same since that accident tho

    Who people think wins here?

    Arlovski..Rnd 2 TKO

Need Mir to get knocked out here.

I couldn't pick between the two myself, so I just went with Mir

They both do. It's been a pretty poor spectacle.

Will DJ and Dodson have a quicker paced fight?

    Crap fight though.

Ruined my bet but can't complain really about result.

Awful advert for this proposal but shouldn't the UFC make co-mains be 5 rounds too?

They can't in Nevada unless it's a title fight.

That's the only reason McGregor vs Mendes was made into an interm title fight, otherwise it would have had to be 3 rounds.

    Mon Dodson

(I pretty much always go underdog tbf)

Its the same in any state, its 3 rounds but the governing commission can allow a non title fight to be 5 rounds.

McGregor v Mendes had nothing to do with that. It was made an interim fight because Aldo had pulled out of 5 title fights. The UFC wanted there to be an interim title holder so that if Aldo didnt fight eventually they already had someone in place with the title, and to show him they werent happy with him missing so many title fights.

    Really looking forward to this.
Really looking forward to bed afterwards too.

Would love to see Dodson pull this off but think DJ will manage to hold out for the 5 rounds or catch Dodson off guard if he comes in too quick and gets sloppy.

Also Dodson is much more interesting.

The fight. Otherwise I'd be in bed already :D

Wouldn't be too disappointed if it was quick though :P

Ok, going to sound like a tool, I don't mind

    5???????????????????????????????

I thought the interim belt was bull**** but surely 5 cop outs deserves some sort of repercussion.

Was it different injuries for each?

I'm going for Dodson just because DJ is so dominant, I hope he gets a good fight!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,683 ✭✭✭Subcomandante Marcos

    Dodson's foot speed is crazy.

Yes but not really a discussion for this thread. Heres a list

DJ and Dodson seems to genuinely hate each other at this stage. I cant help but see them like 2 of the seven dwarfs in the cage after the last 2 fights and the size of some of the guys.

My stream doesn't have a high enough frame rate for this fight lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Deadst4r

Mighty mouse the aggressor, hoping that works against him and Dodson catches him on the counter.

Obviously I'd love a cheeky knee, but I'll see for a punch

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

Could easily be 1 round each so far. Super close fight.

Mighty Mouse not having much fun with that single.

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Deadst4r

    He's all over him :(

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

I have it 29-28 to DJ so far but DJ is starting to coast now and Dodson is getting frustrated, likely to make some sloppy mistakes and could get caught if hes not careful

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Deadst4r

    Hope Dodson catches him.

Mighty Mouse looked very cocky at the end there.

    I have it 30 - 27 myself

Dodson needs knockout or submission. (obv)

Dodson is offering nothing, getting clipped way too easy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,563 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Maybe I expected too much but I expected them to be trading punches much more than they have been

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,683 ✭✭✭Subcomandante Marcos

    40 - 35 for me right now...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

A clinic from Mighty Mouse. He's so under-appreciated. Pretty cool that we could hear what the fighters/coaches etc were saying in the octagon after the fight, we don't usually get to hear that (well not clearly anyway).

I'm off to bed a very happy man after Pearson won. :D

No UFC for 3 weeks now however :( Thank Christ for that BAMMA event inbetween.

Goodnight all and enjoy the Sunday lie in! :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,683 ✭✭✭Subcomandante Marcos

    50 - 43 for me.

Mighty Mouse was so dominant, especially the last two rounds.

Maybe time for the UFC to get rid of the flyweight division. Too boring and that fight isnt going to help matters

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Deadst4r

haha might mouse 'I respect you as a man, even though you talk **** about me'

Dodson 'We gotta hype this **** up'

Appreciate how great MM is...but no seats sold at all. That's what Dodson was trying to do. Why can't he understand that?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

    50 - 43 for me.

Mighty Mouse was so dominant, especially the last two rounds.

He was clinical but no where near dominant enough to get 2x 10-8

Not as great a fight as was hoping for but a decent enough card overall.

    Time to sleep, later folks!

I thought the last two rounds he schooled him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Deadst4r

    Agreed, he was dominant.

He's humble and brilliant but it doesn't sell shows unfortunately.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

I thought the last two rounds he schooled him.

He picked his punches but he didnt destroy him or dominate him on the ground to merit getting 10-8. Was always gonna be 50-45 or 49-46 with Dodson getting the second round. DJ didnt have to move into second gear the whole fight, Dodson was getting picked off and seemed a lot more reserved than their last fight. Left it too easy for DJ to control the pace and land his punches.

The main event was a great show of technique, footwork and speed, it certainly had more action than the dreadful Arlovski/Mir fight that preceded it but the problem with the flyweights is that it's almost an exhibition, for the most part it seems to be fighting with the element of danger removed. I appreciate the fighters immense skills but once you remove that element of danger you are removing the excitement.

Arlovski striking wasn't good enough if he wants a run at the title, had him win it but a poor enough fight.

Dodson is a good fighter however DJ is untouchable Defo had it 49-46 with Dodson just about winning round 2.

The lads are biased at all towards PVZ even at the start of the first round they were praising here over and over. She needs a good 18 months before she gets a title shot or she will be destroyed.
