Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Right move. Van Gaal knows the financial implications of getting into the Champions League. He'll certainly want to try and put this game to rest tonight.

Given the money spent on the squad he'll be desperate to do this with ease I'm sure.

Referee showing sleight of hand whipping out that yellow.

Probably been asked already but how come Gigi Buffon is reffing this?

Rooney has been awful. Emanuel Riviere-esque levels of awful.

Really, really hope Hernandez comes on for Rooney.

Smiling off on another jaunt up the field! :D

Agreed, don't get the whole, it takes him 4/5 games of the season to get going thing either

LVG called him Mr Mike Smalling in a presser :pac:

Is that a genuine excuse going around for him? If you're supposedly world class, you'll find a way.

I don't think he necessarily helps himself. He's supposed to be playing as a central striker but has found himself out wide on more than one occasion tonight.

Van Gaal called him that in a press conference in error.

Care to tell me how he has been good? I haven't seen anything to suggest he's had a good game bar the opening couple of minutes.

I mean, it wouldn't be hard to improve.

The RTe commentators are up his ass for some reason....

When you see Smalling play like this you wonder how he was so rubbish for so long.

I'd say he's been busting a bollock ever since the Ramos rumours started circulating and was fearful of being dropped.

No he was very good the 2nd half of last season, after spending the previous 2 years unable to make a 5 yard pass.

Smalling was excellent last year as well generally. Before that he showed huge promise. Surprised to read that.
